From the Warsaw Ghetto to John Lewis for Palestine Solidarity Campaign’s Ewa Jaciewicz.

Ewa Jaciewicz is an activist. That’s what she does. She was last seen hanging around inside a chimney in Nottingham for which she was “rigorously trained”. She writes about her activism in great detail for The Guardian.

On Saturday she helped orchestrate an anti-Israel protest inside John Lewis on London’s Oxford Street. About 50 anti-Israel activists followed her in and unfurled banners accusing Israel of apartheid and urging shoppers not to shop in John Lewis because it sells products made by Sodastream, an Israeli company with a factory on the West Bank that produces items enabling consumers to live greener lives.

Jaciewicz, a campaigner against climate change, should be sympathetic to Sodastream except her desire to see the Jewish state disappear obviously trumps all the good that Israeli companies do for the world.

Now, that’s hypocrisy for you.

Meanwhile, you can buy Sodastream products online from John Lewis here.

One of the signs unfurled by the activists read: “John Lewis…ethical policy? You profit from war and apartheid. Stop selling stolen goods.”

There is nothing illegal about Sodastream, and international law fully supports Israel’s presence in the West Bank. Anyone would have a very hard time disproving this.

But what Jaciewicz, a member of the Polish Campaign of Solidarity with Palestine, never wrote about for The Guardian was her trip a few years ago to the Warsaw Ghetto.

Now, what would a reasonable human being do if they visited a site where some 400,000 Jewish people (or people of any religion for that matter) lost their lives? Say a prayer, lay a flower, place a simple stone in remembrance?

Jaciewicz helped daub the words “Free Gaza and Palestine” on one of the nearby walls. What did any of those 400,000 innocent lost souls ever do to her?

One of Jaciewicz’s accomplices inside John Lewis was Salim Alam, one of the head honchos at the Palestine Solidarity Campaign. Alam once chaired a Palestine Solidarity Campaign meeting which was so horrific that afterwards one of the audience members let rip with a long Holocaust denial rant.

So these are just two of the characters that dominate the Palestine Solidarity Campaign’s activism against Israel.

If only the shoppers at John Lewis who heard the accusations of apartheid against Israel and the calls for Israel’s destruction knew these back stories then they might understand what this sort of activism against Israel is truly about.

After about 45 minutes the police turned up and the activists removed themselves from John Lewis after being warned by the police that they could otherwise be arrested for aggravated trespass.

And as thousands continue to be gassed and murdered in Syria by Assad where are the protests against that and where are Jaciewicz’s articles on Syria?

Thanks to Harvey for his footage and photos above and for the others that braved the onslaught on Saturday of this continuous vile campaign against the Jewish state.

  1. This has gone beyond land dispute. These people (especially the followers of Islam) are carrying out their religious duty of Jew Hate, Israel/Palestine land dispute is just an excuse. If I was a Muslim and if my religion dictated me to hate Jews (as it does) I’d do everything in my power what my faith tells me is my god given duty to undermine Jews and try to bring them down – be it handing out leaflets in superstore, posting insults and lies about Jews on the internet forums, take part in demonstrations, canvass my MP/local councilors, you name it, I would do it.

These campaigns instill hate towards Jews in people who are not even interested in the Palestinian issue. Just yesterday there was an item in Daily Mail where a trainee solicitor quite casually blurted out that she hated Jews.

So this has nothing to do with I/P land dispute and everything to do with a political movement masquerading as religion.

    • That’s exactly what it’s about. And more. A lot, lot more. Fundraising for the likes of Hamas. supporting – or not condeming – terrorists. open bigotry against the white and non-Muslim population of these isles… you got it.

  2. The consumers in Britain should all thank this agitator for pointing out that John Lewis sells goods made in Israel and make a bee line of going there and purchasing ONLY “made in Israel” products- for their quality and for taking a stand in objection to intimidation by these tunnel visioned naive and wayward protestors Tell all your friends to do the same and order from John Lewis over the internet(soon one may be able to go onto Facebook and use Wayzz(made in Israel) to actually get to John Lewis stores sans traffic jams. Whatever the imperfections that Israel may have – look at the neighbourhood!!!!

  3. I can’t be the only one that has noticed that most of these cowards’ stunts take place on Saturdays. Could it possibly be so as to minimise any opposition they face, as they know that at least some Jews (the observant ones) won’t be there to argue with them?

    • Absolutely, and her actions at the Warsaw Ghetto demonstrate this to a T. That place with all its dark history has absolutely nothing – NOTHING – to do with the re-constituted State of Israel. Her choice of demonstration rips away the sham veil of pretence that her problem is with “Zionists” or “Israeli government policy”. It clearly isn’t. It’s with Jews.

      • Playing the eternal victim and sickeningly using the victims of one fascist state to defend the actions of another ,;leaves you drowning in a sea of hypocrisy,You should be ashamed of yourself because in doing so you debase the meaning of the word antisemitic.

          • Bit mild in the insults stakes, aren’t you?

            Am Yisrael Chai!

I dream of having a huge craft beer and a bacon and cheese sandwich there. (Not because I have anything against Jews or their dietary laws, far from it. But because Israel – the tolerant, free, liberal, democratic and decent country that it is – is not threatened by bacon, even if a minority of its adherents love the stuff.)

Israel is all of us versus Islam.

        • “Playing the eternal victim ” is how the Palestinians sucker their supporters.

“and sickeningly using the victims of one fascist state to defend the actions of another,…” “Another” is the fascist regime of Hamas in Gaza and another is the PLO of the “West Bank.” Then there’s Hezbollah, the terrorist of Tehran, the Muslim Brotherhood, etc. Their preferred would-be victims are the Jews of Israel.

“leaves you drowning in a sea of hypocrisy” I couldn’t agree more, snotty.

        • Spratty proves yet again that contemporary obsessive Jew-baiting is based on the sanctimonious European delusion of moral superiority over the Jews. And monuments like the Warsaw Ghetto that symbolise the brutal and systematic murder of the Jewish people at the hands of European barbarians, are no more than convenient sticks which can be used to have a another crack at the yids.

          • “Spratty proves yet again that contemporary obsessive Jew-baiting is based on the sanctimonious European delusion of moral superiority over the Jews.”
            That’s the game – anti-Semitism in a nutshell.

          • contemporary obsessive Jew-baiting is based on the sanctimonious European delusion of moral superiority over the Jews

In some cases, of course, it’s more about personal insecurity.

But do please try to tone down the sweeping statements. ;-)

            • Pretz, the statements are directed towards those who have a propensity for Jew-baiting but are too cowardly and ignorant to recognise where their bigotry comes from. It’s never a dig against you, or Europeans in general, just those who use the fig-leaf of progress, enlightenment and humanity to debase themselves with Europe’s longest hatred.

  4. Just as an aside. We bough Sodastream not even knowing it was made in Israel. It is a great product and one we thoroughly enjoy using. Tell your friends about it. It’s great.

  5. BUYcott Sodastream! True environmentalists, not those who jump on a fashionable bandwagon, will support Israel, considering how much it contributes to ecological repair.

  6. Judging by the hysterical reactions to a protest at a department store. They must have touched a nerve! It’s not that long ago that these same tactics, these little acorns of protest, spelled the beginning of the end of the South African regime. No wonder the vitriol is so pervasive here. You’re terrified! Desmond Tutu described the regime in Israel as “in many ways worse” than apartheid in an interview with David Frost. And he should know!

Sorry, folks. Israel’s days are numbered and through no-one’s fault but their own.

    • Yeah, that’s why Israel’s exports continue to grow and its economy continues to expand. Wishful thinking little boy.

      • Jewish success makes Jew-haters foam. Alex’s days are numbered due to his mental ulcer.

    • Translation: Tutu should know better. He’s an out and out old style frothing at the mouth Christian anti-Semite, and well-documented false witness. Your kind of guy. He hates Jews. So David Frost interviewed a racist. Must make racism good then, huh?
By the way, it might be good for Desmond Tutu as well as you and yours to think about what happened in the end to Hitler and his merry men. Why wait?

    • ‘alex’ two facts for you.
I know it is wrong to confuse those who support ‘BDS’ with facts as the truth is inconvenient to their twisted views.

      1. The store in question, John Lewis Oxford Street last week when this bunch turned up INCREASED their sales by 5.3%, for that week. (Figures are available online) Stores throughout the UK are now queueing up to request a visit from these clowns as they would also like to see a similar increase in sales figures.

      2. The stores of John Lewis are owned by the John Lewis Partnership, which means the 80,000+ permanent staff at John Lewis share the profits. Congratulations for choosing one of the very few companies in the U.K. where the workforce have a say in the way it is run and a share in the profits.

      • One question Gerald: while it’s nice that the John Lewis’ sales have increased as a result of those idiots, what has been the impact on sales of SodaStream and other Israeli products? I couldn’t find that online

It could very well be that people have entered the store out of curiosity to see what the commotion was all about and ended up buying products, but not necessarily SodaStream.

        • Michael, sorry but I don’t know that figure.
What I can tell you is that every ASDA and Tesco’s Superstore I’ve been into lately sells a wide range of SodaStream products, so it must be selling well at least in South Wales.
I can also add that Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, ASDA and Tesco carry a range of Israeli products and in Cardiff two of the above have designated areas where you can find them.

            • Thank Gerald. As I recall the Beguile, Deceive, and Sham movement has targeted Waitrose in the past. If I’m not mistaken, and I gladly would be, they were successful.

              • As long as they don’t stop Sainsbury’s selling the excellent Barkan wines. Now that would really annoy me!

    • They must have touched a nerve!
No alex only you are touching yourself. Are you really so deluded that you consider the actions of some violent Nazi thugs causing damage to the Palestinians scaring off the wide public with their behavior?
Maybe you should consider some facts first:
Netanyahu just signed a trade agreement with China worth 2 billion USD.
Facebook intends to buy Waze – the price 900million-onebillion USD and the company will remain in Israel only the marketing will be transferred to the US.
Do you prefer to eat own your heart rare or well done?

      • For Alex and his egocentric friends, the self-congratulatory emotion of the thing takes precedent over the realities. Those realities are that Israel is a strong trade partner; is engaged in mutual research & development projects; is an ally amid a sea of hostility to the West (and close to the vitally strategic Suez Canal); and has been declared worth five times more value for money than the CIA in terms of the intelligence it provides which ensures security – even for Alex. And then there’s Israel’s position on the stock market and its contributions to the world of medical, agricultural, technological and scientific. And of course, it’s up-and-coming role as a gas provider. Apparently, Israeli success has coaxed Warren Buffet out of his previous investment policy.

To even think a rag-tag bunch of hot-heads, hanging around a store or two, shouting loudly and annoying shoppers – who are unlikely to be impressed by what is very clearly a “Look at me! Look at me!” student-style exercise – is going to make a dent on this is utterly preposterous.

        • No idea what’s happened that has caused my comment to appear in triplicate!

          Apologies, though.

    • “Sorry, folks,” says the Holocaust agitator.
I would recommend to delete this nazi comment.

      • Tutu is a fine man who happens to have criticized Israel.

Your juvenile slurs against him only put you yourself in a poor light.

        • Tutu is a fine man who happens to have criticized Israel
Thank you for demonstrating your cluelessness, ignorance, insensivity and idiocy – your true face (again). A fine man who supports the boycott movements against Israel, and scared of the too powerful Jews. For you he’s a fine man – for us Israelis he’s just a piece of Israel hater shit and a deadly enemy. You choose your hero well pretzel – he’s a good match.

          • So now you’re effectively calling me a “piece of Israel hater shit and a deadly enemy”.

            Utterly ridiculous.

Can you not come up with arguments of substance?

And what evidence is there that Tutu himself is a “piece of Israel hater shit and a deadly enemy”?

            • His support of the deadly enemies of Israel is not enough evidence? Yes pretzel if he’s a “fine man” for you then you are not an enemy but a deluded idiot. He’s as an Israel critic as Milne. Hamas, Greenwald and co are.

                • pretzel are you pretending or is it real? Supporting a boycott against israel is a love act in your book? A fine man… for you. This is not your country, not your people, not your problem, not your enemy . BTW it must be very comfortable sitting on the fence being a kibbitzer and giving marks. And FYI Tutu is not Hamas but one of its ally, helper, fellow traveler and a supporter.

                • @ peter

Supporting a boycott against israel is a love act in your book?

Of course not. Where did I even suggest that?

Tutu is not Hamas but one of its ally

Now you’re getting desperate, because you know it was silly to call him a “deadly enemy of Israel.”

And you still haven’t responded to the quote I posted from the AJC re. the allegations of anti-Semitism.

                • pretzel as the saying goes don’t argue with idiots because they’ll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience so my last attempt:
Me: Supporting a boycott against israel is a love act in your book?
You: Of course not. Where did I even suggest that?
No pretzel you suggested that he’s a fine man.

Me: Tutu is not Hamas but one of its ally
You: Now you’re getting desperate, because you know it was silly to call him a “deadly enemy of Israel.”
Tutu is one of the main supporter of the different flotillas to Gaza whose only purpose is to break the blockade in order to help Hamas to unrestricted access to Iranian weapons – if this is not being its ally then I don’t know what is. Together with his support of a blockade against Israel he is the textbook example of a deadly enemy, but I repeat pretzel not your enemy only ours. He doesn’t want to boycott you only me, he doesn’t want to help people who want to destroy you only me so I understand your admiration and love of him.
And you still haven’t responded to the quote I posted from the AJC re. the allegations of anti-Semitism.
You must be confusing me with someone else who gives a shit what the AJC considers anti-Semitism.

                • @ peterthehungarian

Now you’re getting REALLY desperate. You keep on throwing slurs at Tutu that simply are not true.
Your latest is that he is an “ally” of Hamas and supports the supply of weapons to them!

That’s almost as ridiculous as Assad claiming that Israel is an ally of Al-Qaeda.
                  Almost.

                • @ peter

And again you throw a stupid slur against me as well.

You say “I understand your admiration and love of [Tutu]” because he – so you laughably claim – wants to destroy Israelis.

                  You may apologise.

                • You may apologise.
I may and do. I apologize from every deluded idiots calling you one of them.
And now I think that every reader of our sweet dialogue will be able to decide about Tutu and your eternal love of him, so you may understand that I put a definite end to it. Life is to short to waste for beating the shit you generate here.

                • @ peter

Not for the first time, peter, you resort to insults and lies when you’ve been shown up.

On this very thread you also posted a sarcastic response to me about “superior British intellect feel free to explain us lowly Jews what we need to know about anti-Semitism”.

                  How wrong you are.
                  Quite pathetic.

                • “Not for the first time, peter, you resort to insults and lies when you’ve been shown up.” pretzocrap

Once again, churchlady, you are a grotesque hypocrite. YOU insult people here all the time, calling them “mental midgets”, “twats” and other inanities. Just get lost.

        • Are these examples of Tutu criticizing Israel?

“Jewish lobby is too powerful and scary.”

          “Jews are a “peculiar people.“

“The Jews cause many of the world’s problems.”

“The gas chambers made for a neater death than Black people suffered under Apartheid.”

Jews must “forgive the Nazis for the Holocaust .”

“The world went to war over the death of 6 million Jews.”

      • Desmond Tutu doesn’t believe in AIDS

Is this some kind of joke I don’t get?

Tutu has his own AIDS foundation.

      • @ ItsikDeWembley – or any of those people supporting their post:

I repeat: is this a joke or just a fictitious slur?

        • Joke Pretz. I was waiting for Alex to come and spot this obvious fiction but hey. He didn’t spot fiction from reality.

          Speaking of Tutu.
This is what he had to say about Mugabe:
” And I still want to say we must honour him for the things that he did do, and just say what a shame.”

Shame. Shame he didn’t step down earlier. Not shame he killed hundresd and destroyed the barn of Africa.
Shame he didn’t step down 10 years earlier.

          Now that’s a muppet!

          • Phew. Your comment as it stood seemed totally out of character for you.

Although I do wonder whether certain people giving it the thumbs up got that. ;-)

    • Archbishop Desmond Tutu is a high-ranking member of a church that persecuted Jews for centuries. The squeaky little clown is simply continuing his tradition as best he can.

      • Oh, stop the silly slurs already.

I bet you don’t bring out that line when talking about pro-Israel Anglican activists …

        “Tradition”? You have no idea.

      • Desmond Tutu;
“The Jewish lobby is too powerful and scary”
“The gas chambers was made for a neater death.”
” “the Jews thought they had a monopoly of God: Jesus was angry that they could shut out other human beings.”.
He complained of “”the Jewish Monopoly of the Holocaust,” and has demanded that its victims must “forgive the Nazis for the Holocaust,” while refusing to forgive the “Jewish people” for “persecute[ing] others.”
He has compared Israel to Hitler’s Germany, Stalin’s Soviet Union and Apartheid South Africa, saying that they too were once “very powerful” but they “bit the dust,” as will “unjust” Israel.

Pure unadultered objective criticism of Israel and nothing to do with anti-Semitism naturally
The giggling piece of Israel critics shit…

        • What is about many Brits and they way that they “debate” anyway? I’ve seen this among others besides pretzelbull. They say things “bullocks” and “pfft on that,” seldom providing any sort of citation, reference, or any proof whatsoever. Then, it’s also as if they believe that they make lucid, cogent arguments.

It’s sad and embarrassing for them, considering how they sanctimoniously think of themselves as the foremost authorities on the English language.

          • Of course. These superior British intellect feel free to explain us lowly Jews what we need to know about anti-Semitism and who is an anti-Semite…

            • These superior British intellect feel free to explain us lowly Jews

It obviously would be preposterous to claim that applies to my mentality – so what on earth are talking about here?

          • considering how they sanctimoniously think of themselves as the foremost authorities on the English language.

Eh? I think that’s your insecurity talking there.

And you complain about my manner of posting while calling me “pretzelbull”? Hilarious!

I don’t recall you criticizing my many pro-Israel comments, btw. Strange that.

            “pfft on that”

            – Never said nor heard of that one!

p.s. It’s “bollocks” “not “bullocks”. But ta for the laugh anyway!

            • “Eh? I think that’s your insecurity talking there.”
              That’s your sanctimony talking.

“I don’t recall you criticizing my many pro-Israel comments, btw. Strange that.”
Tell me which ones are inaccurate.

              ““pfft on that”

              – Never said nor heard of that one!”
I said “many Brits” in my post. Are you many people?

“p.s. It’s “bollocks” “not “bullocks”. But ta for the laugh anyway!”
              Thanks indeed for the tip.

              • “I don’t recall you criticizing my many pro-Israel comments, btw. Strange that.” Tell me which ones are inaccurate.

You want me to tell you which of my pro-Israel comments are inaccurate?
                Please explain.

                • Presumably there are at least three people who understood Michael’s comment above re. “which ones are inaccurate.” Would they care to explain?

    • Alex reveals his contempt for the Jewish people by deploying a tried and tested anti-Semitic cliche (probably so visceral he doesn’t even recognise it) that the Jews are the architects of their own misfortune, and so deserve the 2,000 years of repression and murder they suffered under ‘progressive’ European culture. Unfortunately for Alex, his bigotry has been disempowered as Israel now provides sovereign protection against people like him. The best he can do is sit around at inconsequential SWP meetings fantasising about a future utopia where Israel no
      longer exists. Dream on asshole!

  7. The anti-semitism within the Palestine Solidarity Campaign is well documented. The Nazi bitch Ewa Jaciewicz should fit in well.

Her desecration of the Warsaw Ghetto was a disgusting racist gesture, for which she is rightly reviled. Pity I wasn’t there on Saturday to file a few of her leaflets in a handy orifice – using a barge-pole obviously.

  8. Andy
I was there on Saturday and took the photos and video footage for Richards blog . I cannot go into too much detail on open forum , suffice to say that staff formed an effective cordon around the protestors so as to isolate them from shoppers . In effect the BDS put on a pantomime for themselves . Apart from a few known faces , most were kids who sounded and looked like they had just come straight off the BDS production line of lies and propaganda . You could tell this at once , especially the young woman with the megaphone who repeatedly fluffed her lines .
These people are narcissists among other things . They play to no one but themselves and a few bemused passing shoppers who don’t linger long enough to hear their malign message .

It’s also important to add that the PSC recently changed their logo from One State – Palestine to a neutral one ( reminds me of a 70s ad for dish washer powder ) in order to improve their image . Unfortunately no one remembered to tell these bozos led by Salim Alam as they were soon into their River to the Sea mantra .
The most important thing to remember is that these people are politically impotent . For all their huffing and puffing and perceived victories , not one modern first world democracy has come even remotely close to adopting the BDS cause .
Again Norman Finklestein , no friend of Israel , labelled the PSC a cult with no mainstream political support and no critical mass among of support among Palestinians . More than that , we have witnessed their repeated attempts to distance themselves from their hard core embedded antisemites , not because they are antisemites but because of the damage they do to an already damaged and racist organisation .
It is problematic for we in the Diaspora and our many fantastic supporters in the Christian Zionist movement and beyond , but the fact is these people barely register on Israels radar unless you count the loss of Elvis Costello and douche bag Roger Waters as something to worry about . Israel goes from strength to strength for all the efforts of these unreconstructed racists and fascists .
    # BDS fail
