Guardian photo caption of the day: Palestinian ‘stones’ which somehow ignite

Today’s edition of the Guardian’s ‘Picture Desk Live’ included a photo, by Atef Safadi of EPA, showing a riot near Ramallah related to the recent death of Arafat Jaradat.  Jaradat is a Palestinian arrested on Feb. 18 for committing acts of violence, and whose cause of death on Saturday in an Israeli prison is unknown. (There were three additional photos in today’s edition of ‘Picture Desk Live’ related to Jaradat’s funeral.)

First, here’s the Guardian caption which accompanied the photo:

stone

Keep in mind the claim that Israeli soldiers were firing rubber bullets on “Palestinian stone throwers” when you see the photo:

West Bank clashes erupt after Palestinian detainee funeral

I’m no explosion expert, but my laymen’s eyes couldn’t help but notice the center of the photo where a small fire is raging.

Can ‘stone throwing’ cause fires?

Indeed, a brief search for additional photos from today’s riot identified the possible cause of the blaze.

photo

So, it appears that a fire bomb thrown by a Palestinian rioter may have caused the fire which ignited near Israeli soldiers.

Regardless of the cause of the particular fire seen in the photo, however, characterizing the Palestinians at the protest as merely ‘rock throwers’ is extremely misleading.

While Palestinian Authority leaders, or groups tacitly supported by the PA, may be initiating the recent “low-scale” conflict in the Palestinian territories, it seems certain that those responsible can continue to count on a compliant media which will employ language serving to significantly downplay the lethalness of such Palestinian violence.

  1. The journobots at Al-Guardian only have a very low grade level programming which consists of “Israel Wrong” and “Palestinians Right” And on that basis the journobots at Al-Guardian are incapable of changing their ideas when their programming is presented with overwhelming evidence of “Israel Right” and “Palestinians Wrong” or anything similiar

  2. What did Golda Meir say 50 years ago about how the Palestinians abuse their children?

    http://www.nydailynews.com/archives/news/promised-boy-22-72-virgins-die-article-1.649703
THEY PROMISED THE BOY $22 AND 72 VIRGINS, THEN …SENT HIM TO DIE
Deborah Blachor , In Jerusalem , Corky Siemaszko , In New AND York / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
    March 25, 2004,

A Palestinian boy bomber who was given $22 and promised 72 virgins in paradise was forced at gunpoint by Israeli soldiers to strip and remove the explosives strapped to his body. “Do I have to take my clothes off here?

” Hussam Abdu, 14, asked as soldiers yelled orders from behind barricades at a West Bank checkpoint. The soldiers insisted. “He panicked, lifted his hands and a tragedy was prevented because he did not manage to detonate the explosive,” said Lt. Col. Guy, commander of the paratrooper unit. It was around 3 p.

    m. when Abdu walked up, wearing an oversized red jacket. The soldiers were suspicious and ordered him to raise the jacket, revealing a gray vest packed with explosives. “We could see that there was something on under his jacket,” said one of the paratroopers. They ordered Abdu to take off his clothes, one item at a time – a suspenseful striptease caught on camera. When Abdu had stripped down to his underpants, the soldiers used a yellow, remote-controlled robot to deliver a pair of scissors to cut off the vest. “Lift your right hand and reach out to grab the scissors with the left,” one yelled. The frightened boy did as he was told, and after struggling with the scissors he was free of his deadly payload. “He said he didn’t want to die,” said another soldier who was at the checkpoint. “He didn’t want to blow up.

” Abdu was bundled in a green hooded parka and rushed off to safety while the vest was taken away and safely detonated. The boy later told investigators that Tanzim – a militant group affiliated with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat’s Fatah movement – told him that the only way he would ever have sex was to blow himself up. They also promised to give 100 shekels to his mother, who is ill. The boy said he wanted to be “a hero.

” “This is another example of the atrocious tendency of the Palestinians to sacrifice their own children for the purpose of attacking innocent Israelis,” said government spokesman David Baker. Abdu’s neighbors in Nablus said the boy belonged to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, a militant group. His family, however, said Abdu was no terrorist. Israeli soldiers are increasingly on the lookout for kiddie bombers. They recently caught a 10-year-old Palestinian boy carrying explosives through the same roadblock. But unlike Abdu, Abdallah Quran apparently did not know the package he was paid $1 to carry was explosives. Both boys are students at the same school.

  3. I’m no expert on tires – but they don’t generally tend to spontaneously combust.

Except on the planet Mercury, perhaps. Or on Earth only from a stone chucked with the supersonic throwing volocity of the God of the same name.

  4. “and whose cause of death on Saturday in an Israeli prison is unknown……”

But Adam the cause is not unknown. It was a heart attack. You told us so yesterday.

  5. Can you lot hear yourself? A Palestinian, human or not, died in Israel’s custody. Suffered a heart attack brought about by the most civilized reception he received while being a guest of the Israeli authorities.

As for Joginder Singh, I doubt he knows the meaning of the word right or wrong. His ancestors, from the Ghadar Babas to those martyred in Jhallianwalla Bagh and those killed in the Golden Temple or the ones killed in Delhi always stood by the Palestinians whether they were wronged by the British or the Zionists.

The Palestinians stood by the Indians in our fight against the colonialists. Today it is our turn to stand by the Palestinians against the Zionist colonialists.

Besides, justice demands that humanity does everything possible to bring to end the madness of racism to an end for ever.

    • “…end the madness of racism to an end for ever…”
Pray tell us, what does this have to do with Israel?
Perhaps you might wish to attend to lynch mobs of Buddhists attacking Muslims in India/Kashmir, and vice versa(since you so emphatically reference the sub-continent), and where just last week, more than thirty people were killed.
The Jews, whom you unsubtly call “Zionist colonialists[sic]” here, have a right, just like any other people, to self-determination, which they exercise in Israel.
This, in a nutshell, is Zionism; nothing more, nothing less.
Tell us, did these poor “Human-or-not” Israelis enjoy this particular brand of Palestinian, “most civilised reception, as Guests of the Palestinian authorities”?
I shudder to think what sort of death they would have suffered had they been actually captured by the PA.
As for the treatment of Palestinian convicts in Israel jails, if your poor soul is indeed thus stirred by their prostration, it might be worthwhile to consider, the facts, here.

    • The Palestinians stood by the Indians in our fight against the colonialists.

Somehow I contrived to overlook those veritable seas of PLO flags in the film footage of Gandhi’s funeral.

      • Not to mention, of course, that at the time of the Indian battle for independence (before the State of Israel’s own independence), the term “Palestinians” applied equally to Jews as it did to Arabs. Back then, the term simply meant someone whose home was in mandate Palestine, much as “French” means someone whose home is in France now does. The term “Palestinians” only acquired its political significance some decades later.

    • Actually it was the Israelis who shared the Hindus’ fight for freedom of colonial Britannia, you are probably aware of Ben Gurion’s letter to Gandhi.

The “Palestinians”, BTW, are Muslims, and would like all Hindus converted or dead. FYI.

  6. What are the Israeli concerns? – The demographic bomb [ what is it if not racism?]
Jewish and democratic Israel [ sounds like Apartheid South Africa]
Settlements in West Bank [ exclusively Jewish - how does it differ from racism?]
This should be enough for most. Perhaps not for you. As for the facts how many Palestinians were killed in 2012? How many Palestinian houses were destroyed? Besides last I looked West Bank is under illegal occupation. Gaza under siege.

If you really want to know what is happening in India read Arundhati Roy http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2013/feb/18/afzal-guru-dangerous-political-fallout

What else do you want to know?

    • “The demographic bomb [ what is it if not racism?]” ????????????
As I read your post I thought to myself, “gee, this guy is extremely one-sided, bigoted and ignorant.” How does that differ from racism? Monkey see monkey do.

Arab and democratic Palestine [sounds like Apartheid South Africa, looks and smells like Apartheid South Africa, views Jews as whites viewed blacks in Apartheid South Africa - it's leadership is on record].

    • Israeli concerns, are chiefly, with having their state, protecting it, and its citizens.
I don’t know why you’re so eager to deprive Palestinians of their right to live in a state of their own, separate from Israel.
Jewish and Democratic Israel — that’s the reality on the ground. You may not like it, but Israel is the only country ranked “free” in the region. Deal with it.(And let’s face it, you know squat about South Africa — you just threw it in there, “for the hell of it”).
I’m not aware of any “Jewish only settlements”: Just a quick reminder, thousands of Israeli Arabs live in “East Jerusalem”, nominally, a settlement, and do so very freely.
Others live and work in Ma’ale Adumim and Ariel. Nice try, but tough luck.
Gaza under siege? Oh really? Is it also not coincidentally bordered by Egypt? Is India under siege, by sharing a frontier with Pakistan?
“West Bank is under…(blah, blah, blah)” — Look again; 97% of the Palestinians reside under Palestinian control. (See here).
As for India, I would simply be content if you stopped slaughtering each other, and I care not a whit for apologetics for any side.
So if you could stop the internecine strife, before you start lecturing others, that would be great.

    • Apartheid? Do you mean a Casta-like rule? As an Indian, you can definitely give us lessons in apartheid, it is something you clearly excel in…

  7. Would have and did happily until the colonialists arrived at our shores interfering in everybody’s business and cheekily demanding right of self determination in our houses.

    • Jamal ayouni, they only interfered in your buddies raiding parties. All of a sudden you couldn’t pillage and rape so freely. Oh how dare they create organisations like Hashomer.

  8. If you mean the Islamists came from Europe? I did not know that. Anyway you are not as stupid you know who came, when and from where?

If you do not look it up Google is very helpful. Just go and read zionist historians they will tell you. Ben Gurion is very helpful and not wrong in his facts but obviously I do not agree with him on ethnic cleansing or his racist ideology.

    • “Ben Gurion is very helpful and not wrong in his facts but obviously I do not agree with him on ethnic cleansing or his racist ideology.”

That’s because he wasn’t a racist, you are, he didn’t favor “ethnic cleansing,” you do.

    • Of course, by “Ethnic cleansing”, you surely mean the forced expulsion of 850,000 Jews from Muslim countries, rendering them almost entirely Jew-free, whereas you promote Israel, a beacon of tolerance, where over 1.5 million non-Jews(chief amongst them Arabs) live, and are duly citizens?
Why, thank you for saying so!

  9. Jeff

Here is Ben Gurion denouncing ethnic cleansing racist style

In our political argument abroad, we minimize Arab opposition to us. But let us not ignore the truth among ourselves. I insist on the truth, not out of respect for scientific but political realities. The acknowledgement of this truth leads to inevitable and serious conclusions regarding our work in Palestine… let us not build on the hope the terrorist gangs will get tired. If some get tired, others will replace them.
A people which fights against the usurpation of its land will not tire so easily… it is easier for them to continue the war and not get tired than it is for us… The Palestinian Arabs are not alone. The Syrians are coming to help. From our point of view, they are strangers; in the point of law they are foreigners; but to the Arabs, they are not foreigners at all … The centre of the war is in Palestine, but its dimensions are much wider. When we say that the Arabs are the aggressors and we defend ourselves — this is only half the truth. As regards our security and life we defend ourselves and our moral and physical position is not bad. We can face the gangs… and were we allowed to mobilize all our forces we would have no doubts about the outcome… But the fighting is only one aspect of the conflict which is in its essence a political one. And politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves. Militarily, it is we who are on the defensive who have the upper hand but in the political sphere they are superior. The land, the villages, the mountains, the roads are in their hands. The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country, while we are still outside. They defend bases which are theirs, which is easier than conquering new bases… let us not think that the terror is a result of Hitler’s or Mussolini’s propaganda — this helps but the source of opposition is there among the Arabs.

    • Yup, in the political sphere they’re superior, as evidenced by people like you. “In their hands” does not mean “legally theirs.”

    • Why don`t you present the source of your quotation?
Could it be because you know this is nothing Ben Gurion said?

  10. Clearly the direct-response function isn’t working.

Time to call it a night anyway. ;-)

    p.s. @ Harpal Singh February 25, 2013 @ 5:22 pm

The J in “Jewish” is not silent. Not in English, at least.

  11. Jeffry you might want to discussing hijacking – the world today is discussing how to end racism – so try and learn to live with it. Remember once the White South Africans decided there was no other option but to end racist Apartheid system Things worked out much better for most, except perhaps for one or two die-hard racists. This is what is required in Israel/Palestine. A recognition that the only option is to live in peace with each other and coming to terms with the requirements of justice rather than the requirements of racists.

    • Wonderful words, I hope you resolve the South-African like Casta rule in India. Once you do, do share your experience with us. Until then, we would not like to burden you with our minor issues…

  12. Jacob are you serious – they live in the house but it legally belongs to somebody several thousand miles away because his ancestors left the land hundreds of years before the house was built. It is the colonialist law but not the international law as it stands today.

  13. Adam they always have been igniting tyres and rolling them across towards our lines. This has been the case in 88 and this is the case today. What has changed is our directives. While in 88 their molotov cocktail bombs were deemed lethal we were allowed to respond. In 89 we developed better protection in the jeeps against fire and could only respond with rubber bullets and plastic ones. The fact the Guardian calls these so called protesters stone towers is a shame to journalists. They are hooligans and vandals sent or motivated by their political elite and parents / youth leaders.

    • It seems that more than the Israeli soldiers where stoned, the Guardian writers are stoned on a regular basis…

  14. Some of those commenting on this blog are not really of this world. If they were they would know my faith as obvious by my name stood against the caste system and so did Gandhi. At least the laws in India positively discourage caste discrimination unlike in Israel where they encourage racist discrimination.

I understand also that Einstein was not very favorable towards racist Israel.

    • …they would know my faith as obvious by my name stood against the caste system
Not exactly so harpal but you certainly know this already. While the rules and discrimination are less strict in your religion, the caste system does exist.
At least the laws in India positively discourage caste discrimination unlike in Israel where they encourage racist discrimination.
Are you really this dumb or only pretending it? Maybe you should mention only one Israeli law encouraging caste discrimination…

  15. Hungarian education is lacking in Comparative religion. Sikh religious rules explicitly forbid caste divisions. Now it might be that some people do not follow the rules. However, things are opposite to what peterthehungarian thinks he knows. Peter who is saying we cannot live with the Palestinians? Who is saying we need exclusive settlements in the occupied territories? Who is saying it is our lands and the indigenous people living on it have not rights? Not me, not the Palestinians? Who is for Ethnic Cleansing? Perhaps if you are willing to denounce these features of your argument we can talk seriously. Do not assume that you are racist everybody else has to be. Not necessarily true.

    .

    • I repeat, Harpal instead of ranting about Hungarian education (you naturally know nothing about it) either mention only one Israeli law encouraging the caste system or kindly climb back to the arse of Gandhi.
Peter who is saying we cannot live with the Palestinians?
The Muslim world says it loudly and clearly.
Who is saying we need exclusive settlements in the occupied territories? Who is saying it is our lands and the indigenous people living on it have not rights? Not me, not the Palestinians? Who is for Ethnic Cleansing?
Maybe ask your Kashmiri and/or Pakistani brothers – they have the answer.
Perhaps if you are willing to denounce these features of your argument we can talk seriously
No we can’t harpal. I won’t speak seriously with ignorant bullshitting clowns like you.

  16. Here is one among many of the Israeli laws

Amendment 9 to the ‘Basic Law: The Knesset and the Law of Political Parties’, states that a political party “may not participate in the elections if there is in its goals or actions a denial of the existence of the State of Israel as the state of the Jewish people, a denial of the democratic nature of the state, or incitement to racism.”[140][141] A number of attempts were done to disqualify Arab parties based on this rule, however as of 2010, all such attempts were either rejected by the Israeli Central Elections Committee or overturned by the Israeli Supreme Court.

Arabs are asked to acknowledge they live in a state that is Jewish, – Of course this is not racism, It is just a superior race trying to protect its purity.

Perhaps you will be kind enough to let me know how many Palestinians live in the settlements, since you insist they are not exclusive.

    • Did you happen to skip this part:
“…a denial of the democratic nature of the state, or incitement to racism…”
I don’t see therein anything about “forcing” anyone to do anything. Rather, it’s a simple acknowledgement that a deputy’s position in Parliament shall not be used to overthrow the state, or alter its nature.
How would you feel if a political party in India advocated the country’s annexation to Pakistan, by force if necessary?
“Just a superior race…”; I have never heard of a single Israeli/Jew suggesting they were “superior” to any one. You’re just making this up as you go along, together with your feeble attempt to debase a law common in many countries the world over.
Palestinians in Settlements? Why, nothing easier!
More than 1,500 Palestinians work & study in Ariel
      4,000 reside in Ma’ale Adumim(linked to, above).
      Beit-Sfafa(nominally, a settlement, East-Jeruslaem) — 8,500 residents.
The list goes on and on.
Word of advice: don’t comment on issues of which you’re completely ignorant.

    • The Knesset and the Law of Political Parties’, states that a political party “may not participate in the elections if there is in its goals or actions a denial of the existence of the State of Israel as the state of the Jewish people, a denial of the democratic nature of the state, or incitement to racism.
Exactly so harpal. The Basic law requires from every political party to adhere to the laws of democracy and prohibits the denial of the state existence – as it does in every other democratic states. India is not the state of the Indian people, France of the Drench people etc? How is this connected to the caste system?
A number of attempts were done to disqualify Arab parties based on this rule, however as of 2010, all such attempts were either rejected by the Israeli Central Elections Committee or overturned by the Israeli Supreme Court.
So all of this attempts were rejected by the Supreme Court. Thank you harpal.
Arabs are asked to acknowledge they live in a state that is Jewish, – Of course this is not racism, It is just a superior race trying to protect its purity.
You should consider to ask for urgent medical help harpal – your hate of the Jews simply destroyed your nanosized brain.
Ethnic Chinese are asked to acknowledge that they live in a state that belongs to the Malagasy people – Madagascar’s caste system.
Perhaps you will be kind enough to let me know how many Palestinians live in the settlements, since you insist they are not exclusive
      1. The settlements are not Israel
      2. Perhaps you will be kind enough to let me know how many Jews are living in Ramallah, Amman, Riyadh, or even in Amritsar?
You know readers of this blog are accustomed to anti-Semite trolls blessed with the intelligence of a bacteria like Nat and Sanity, but I have to tell you you can beat them with one hand behind your back.

  17. Commentary – Now you are lying, No Palestinians are allowed to be within the settlements. They are not even allowed to travel on transport systems linking the settlements. I suspect you know this. Of course racist states need to defend themselves from other races that is what makes them undesirable. From South Africa to Israel. Racism has no place in this world anymore.

    • How dare you call me a liar, you ungrateful moron?
I specifically provided a link, backing up every single one of my claims.
Why don’t you vouch for yours?, or have you suddenly lost the ability to read?
Specifically, show us where Palestinians are denied the right to “travel on transport systems…”
Again, what racism? What does this have to do with Israel?
I think you’re projecting. It appears you haven’t killed enough Sikhs/Muslims/Buddhist back home, in India(But surely, that’s not racism, is it?), and you’re lashing out here as an excuse.
      It’s pathetic.

  18. Commentary – you must find difficult to read – did you read your own quote? It says all that is needed – I know you are losing the argument and losing your cool – go and have a rest – remember there have been many racist States before who thought defending their race and their state was above everything else – they were all dismantled and so would this one. Have you seen the wall? The writing is on the Wall.

    • It must nice, living in fantasy fairy-tale.
I’ll ask you again, where does the article substantiate your asinine claim that “Palestinians are denied the right to use public transportation”?
I won’t hold my breath for an answer.
As for anything being dismantled: I foresee a break-up of India into ethnic regions far sooner than Israel changing one iota.
      And thankfully so!
(Also, you characteristically ignore your own country’s entrenched racism towards Sikhs and other minorities).
Yes, Indian racism will expire eventually. That writing is certainly on the proverbial ‘wall’.

    • “remember there have been many racist States before”.. and yours still is. For some reason you dodge this in all your posts. Can you please explain why you are NOT worried because of very clear and inherent racism in India?

  19. At least I am not defending my country. It has many problems and hopefully many are working towards eradicating them. There are millions struggling to end the caste system. Millions are struggling to eradicate discrimination. If a similar proportion of Israelis engaged in such struggles I suggest racism will also end in Israel. Just read Aranduthi Roy and you will find out.

    • You’ve taken to copying and pasting your own idiotic retorts?
Should I really repost my own question?
      Here goes:

I’ll ask you again, where does the article substantiate your asinine claim that “Palestinians are denied the right to use public transportation”?

Maybe it’ll sink in, the third time?

  20. peterthehungartian – India is not the state of the hindus, sikhs, muslims, christians buddhists, punjabis, bengalis etc but the state of all its people. Perhaps you already know this. Now if Israel was a state for all its people that would not be a problem – it is a state of all the Jewish people. That is racism. – Commentary did you read this in the link you supplied – “When I come on the bus there are many soldiers. If I speak in Arabic with my friend, they stare at me like they want to kill me,” he said.

    • India is not the state of the hindus, sikhs, muslims, christians buddhists, punjabis, bengalis etc but the state of all its people
Seems to me Harpal that you should be busy to study the problems of your own country. First maybe a visit to Kashmir and asking members of its native Kashmiri mostly Muslim population about their rights as citizens of India?
BTW your mixing religion with nationality shows that you don’t have the slightest clue about the subject you are ranting about.
France is the state of the French people, Germany is the state of the German people… In these countries exactly like in Israel there are ethnic, religious, etc minorities with equal rights. Or do you consider the laws of these states are based on the caste system too?
Your ignorance and hypocrisy criticizing Israel’s democracy from India where the caste system is living and kicking, where in certain parts the serf system is functioning happily, where women can’t travel on public transport without risking to be brutally raped, where illiteracy is a serious problem after 64 years of independence and where anybody who ever visited Mumbai or Delhi can see the bodies of people on the street in the mornings who simply died of hunger during the night, where millions of citizens the only option for healthcare is a deathbed in Mother Theresa’s “hospital” and where corruption of the politicians is simply out of control?

    • Harpal sat srii akaal.
When you write that India is not the state of the Sikhs that is correct as the traditional homeland of the Sikhs was split at partition between India and Pakistan.
But, it is also correct that there is an ongoing struggle by Sikhs for their own country. Indeed I remember Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was assasinated by Sikhs for an insult to their religion when troops stormed the Golden Temple.

Before you ask Harpal, yes even living in the U.K. I have met supporters of the campaign for a Sikh state for Sikhs.

    • Again with this nonsense?
So the Palestinians ARE allowed to use the transportation system! You admit it.
Are you going to retract your lies, then?
As for “killing” anyone, Did you happen to skip this part?(directly above)
” But he said an October suicide bombing in Israel had raised tensions…”
It’s obvious who’s doing the killing.
And that you support it, wholeheartedly.
Tell us, is it in the great and noble Indian tradition — apart of course, from repressing Sikhs — to lie so miserably?
Work on that, why don’t you.

  21. Ser Jew what about relocating Israel to a studio in Hollywood? Good idea don’t you think? in one sweep all Israel’s problems will be resolved. They will be in their dream land. No more demographic bombs and no issues with the right of return

    • Oh, and BTW, Harpo, Israel is already a dream-come-true, since 1948. Deal with it. Now, how many millions die in your country’s internecine conflicts since independence, begining wih the million deaths during partition?

  22. SerJew what about relocating Israel to a studio in Hollywood? Good idea don’t you think? in one sweep all Israel’s problems will be resolved. They will be in their dream land. No more demographic bombs and no issues with the right of return

    • Hey, Harpo, what about dealing with YOUR country’s troubles, including racism? Mind your own business for a change.

  23. Blimey, I knew it was warm in the Middle East, but I didn’t know it was so hot that the rocks burst into flame.

  24. Surely Serjew is that dream not turning into a nightmare? Israelis are finding themselves less and less acceptable in most countries. I hear even some were frightened to go to UK until the new administration changed the rules regarding jurisdiction on crimes against humanity. So, would it not be better just to go to the country that was itself founded on the elimination of the indigenous?

Perhaps you need to give it a serious thought.

  25. Support Blind Children Under Occupation With An Education

Together with your help we can raise the money that these children need.

    So please get donating

HELP YOUNG BLIND CHILDREN LIVE A LIFE WITHOUT LIMITS
    http://igg.me/at/Al-Shurooq/x/2342374

    • Dear Lilith how about supporting children under attack by rockets and mortars in Israel?
Mortars and rockets fired indiscriminately by the terrorist scumbags that you and your friends in the PSC support.

So kindly take your invitation, your ‘Palestinian’ wrist bands and ‘Palestinian’ Keffiyehs and shove them up your arse!

    • Dear Ms. Catharsis I’m ready to donate for noble purposes and what could be more noble than helping blind children? But I have a small condition what I require from any organisation asking for my money. You must first supply either here on this site (or supplying a link to) a full disclosure of your organisation’s income and expenses. How much are you paying the activists of your outfit, and what is mechanism of checking its expenditures. Considering the locale and the affiliation of your target I’ll have some additional demands: who will certify that my shekels won’t be spent to Quassams and suicide belts or paying wannabe martyrs. Naturally it would be very helpful to disclose the material taught to these poor kids, its religious, and ideological contents and the name of the person who is legally responsible for the necessary guarantees my donation won’t be supporting terrorism. I want to ask you to state here how much of the income will be donated to the Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem where some of these children are treated (paid by the Israeli taxpayers).
I’m looking forward to get your cooperation

PS: I’m sure that I’m not alone with my requests and every one of your colleagues and donors want to be sure the proper use of the money (just joking)

  26. What a disgusting nation Israel is. And I am a Jew. Did israel murder 9 Turkish nationasl in international waters after illegally boarding a vessel in international waters?
Did Israel kill 4 UN “Peace keepers” ( 4 of 95 so far killed by Israel in an attack the UN has described as “deliberate”
Did Israel target and destroy an oil tank in Beruit that unleashed 35 metric tonnes of oil into the sea off Lebanon during the 2006 invasion? did Isral bomb other facilities in Lebanon which caused fires which burned for 27 days?
Has Israel murdered over 13,000 Paelstinians civilians in its “invasions” of Lebanon?
Has Israel used the passports of foreign nationals to commit murders in Dubai ?
How did a man encarcerated in a maximum sercurity cell in Israel “commit suicide” (Prisioner X)
Why was Mordechai Vanunu illegally kidnapped in Italy and jailed in Israel?
Why does Israel feel it has the right to invade the soverign territory of Syria to bomb a “suspected nuclear site” and a “convoy that may be carry weapons potentially predjudical to Israel
Why does Israel feel it has the right to ignore international conventions and treaties to which Israel is a signatory ( of this I have personal experience)
Why does Israel feel it has the right to ignore The haugue rulings ( to which Israel is a signatory)?
Why does a Palestinian stone thrower be returned to his countrymen dead with broken ribs ( due to CPR according to Israeli Authorities) however the blood clots in his stomach and the severe cerebal injuries were ignored ( I did the autopsy as an independant authority. He was tortured and murdered)
this is a nation out of control, a nation with absolutely no moral compass, a nation whose national economy is spiralling into deep deficit which i believe will make it far more dangerous to the regional players, a nation which simply ignores UN and USA protests on west bank settlement development, a huge provocation to the Palestinians.
Israel is fighting an asymetric war, a war it simply cannot win. Having used the same techiques in Vietnam, Iraq and now Afghanastan the USA seems not to have learned the lesson that a war that depends upon technology simply cannot win against an “enemy” who is motivated by belief.
ISAF Forces to pull out of Afghanastan in 2014. Whe have we ever had a war ended by a political time table?
April 20 1975, Saigon. the most technologiacally sophisticated ground forces the world had ever seen is reduced to helicopters lifting people from the US embassy in Saigon
Will this happen in Tel Aviv?
Iraq what a farce the “peace” in Iraq is, what was it all for? Where are the weapons of Mass Destruction? Where are the same WMD’s in Iran where a suspiciously high number of nuclear scientists seem to be being murdered
So simply put as the US collapses and its client state Israel receives less and less funding will the world call “time” on this arrogant , murderousnation that after five weeks cannot form a government
To the Jews that hate this comment I offer one comment Tikkah Alam

  27. Pretzelberg – Just go and read about Gandhi – and you will find out how committed he was to the Palestinian cause. He led the Khilafat movement in opposition to the European occupation of Palestine.

  28. Here’s the thing, Harpy – Palestinian Arabs (who’ve hijacked the name “Palestinian”)
threw a bomb at the IDF and the Guardian described this as stone throwing. That’s the topic today, not Ghandi, who quite insanely thought the Jews should have committed mass suicide just to teach another of your idols, Adolph Hitler, a good lesson.

  29. … Ghandi, who quite insanely thought the Jews should have committed mass suicide just to teach another of your idols, Adolph Hitler, a good lesson.

    Eh??

  30. Pretzel read this for example. He not only wanted the Jews to commit themselves voluntarily to the gas but demanded the Brits gave up the war in WWII and was a well known racist – who called the blacks of SA kaffirs – asked the authorities to be separated from them in the SA prison.

  31. This is your maximum Harpal quoting a wannabe kapo writing on the Hezbollah website?!
Your circle of supporters must be very limited.
Your hero’s view is as Jewish as you are Albert Einstein

  32. Commentary here is the quote from the link you sent

Now it is calm. If the situation were tenser, then I would choose to study in Jerusalem,” said Majdi Hussein. But he said an October suicide bombing in Israel had raised tensions.

“When I come on the bus there are many soldiers. If I speak in Arabic with my friend, they stare at me like they want to kill me,” he said.

Rifaat Sweidan, who advises Arab students, says he has received no specific complaints of harassment or racism although some do face academic difficulties.

“Maybe if an Arab student walked in Ariel, below us, it would be a problem. But not at the college,” he said. “In an academic institution, people are used to hearing Arabic.”

Some Jewish Israeli students on campus said they appreciated interacting with Arabs. But others said they were perplexed as to why the school would want to welcome them.

“I had two Arabs in my class. They didn’t talk much. We don’t have anything to talk about,” recent criminology graduate Ravital Sabag said, as she sat outside a campus cafeteria. “I think it is not good to bring more Arabs. I don’t trust them.”

Her friend Gali Mark, also a recent graduate, said she also did not want more Arabs to enroll. If they do, she said: “Jewish people won’t come here to study.”

  33. Commentary you are supposed to read the next sentence as well to make any sense. Perhaps you work for the Propoganda department somebody would have been proud of you.

Rifaat Sweidan, who advises Arab students, says he has received no specific complaints of harassment or racism although some do face academic difficulties.

  34. And where do you see in that, that Palestinians are denied the use of Public transportation?
Are you that moronic, or what?
And what about this little treat:

Rifaat Sweidan, who advises Arab students, says he has received no specific complaints of harassment or racism…

    Just pathetic, honestly.

  35. We are wasting our time Commentary, Mr. Singh is an Israel and Jew -obsessed idiot who couldn’t find his own hole after getting a stick equipped with a mirror.
