Here’s an update to our last post regarding the group, Jewish Voice for Peace, and their youth movement called “Young Jewish and Proud.”
Sorry, but I just couldn’t help myself. After seeing their unintentionally hilarious post, I had to comment at the site of Young Jewish and Proud’s campaign. And, well, I was in an especially mischievous mood, and descended into mockery. Hey we’re all human, right?
Anyway, my comment specifically responded to this passage:
My reply:
Well, I clearly agitated at least someone at JVP.
Apparently, poor Lydia didn’t express enough hatred in her first post, because it was followed by this:
Boy, Lydia really gave me a good whooping. Not only is Israel a genocidal state, but it uproots trees, also. We commit bloody murder and destroy the environment at the same time – our own Zionist “Red-Green Alliance” if you will.

AKUS
Their website is full of glowing recommendations from their mums and dads, uncles and aunts, so proud that these disgusting people were exhibiting true jewish values … i.e., the destruction of the Jewish state for the better good of mankind … that is, Palestinian mankind.
Poor. deluded fools.

Don’t you have the feeling that the same person wrote all those soppy replies? Nobody seems to have objected.
Molly of Maine gathered the best ones together for us. Here they are:
Perhaps the time I’ve taken to extract these excerpts from the comments will express some measure of my huge appreciation:
What an incredibly beautiful statement you have crafted. And what courage you have shown [Cindy].
Your courage and energy are changing the discourse [Barbara].
You all are more than amazing. I am over the moon with love and gratitude and hope. THANK YOU! [Penny]
[With this,] I believe the wall would come down [Sandy].
This is me! This is you! This is us! [Emily]
Amazing work [Christine].
Clearly this has had a MASSIVE impact [Laurence].
How simply gorgeous [Liana].
If I recall, the Biblical prophets weren’t often treated very nicely, either [Dug].
…the indestructibility of our common prayer [Lawrence]
Your strength is contagious [Melodi].
We have your backs [Julia].
… Salute! [Patrick]
I plan to read some of your statement as the Haftorah (prophetic portion) in my synagogue this Shabbat [Rabbi Brian].
Nor Jewish, neither Israelian, but proud of You [Roberto].
You have tickled my humanity [Frank].
“We are born perfect.” What on earth does it mean ????! [Jean] [It means the truth!]
Moses’s biggest challenge wasn’t the pharaoh – it was the conservatives amongst his own people who didn’t believe a better life was possible [Steve].
…Ask for forgiveness, and let the healing and peace move center stage [Kurt & Margaret].
[Thank you for] your soft-shoe manifesto [Alfred].
Mazel tov, hugs,
and Amen -

It is very simple with this group.
Since their loyalty to Judaism is challenged by their allegiance to the Palestinians and the Arab world, they recruit Jewish history as a justification for their stand.
They recite Jewish history well, but do not recognize the mechanism of oppression that caused Jewish suffering. Not throughout Jewish history, and not in the Arab world today, were it is widely present. Instead they hand over Jewish history to the ideologies that serve this very mechanism. They do so in hope of gaining approval as good/just Jews, but tyrants/terrorists/bigots can never be appeased.
So they end up, as always, a part of that mechanism. A mechanism that cannot oppress Jews anymore, because Israel exist, But does oppresses Arabs. Every victim of an Arab tyranny in the world today, be it Gaza, Syria, Libya, or Sudan, is their victim. And the numbers are in the millions.

According to Lydia the exhibition of moralityand integrity of the courageous members of JVC will foster a new growth of peace – how? – by destroying a nation…
These people are in a dire need of the help of mental professionals and some basic education about the history of Israel. Maybe then they will realise that the majority of the Israelis are ex-refugees or the the descendants of ex-refugees from Muslim countries of the ME/North-Africa and not from Europe.
Dear Lydia when you are accusing the Israelis with massmurdering the Palestinians and polluting their water resources etc. – next time you mustn’t forget the well poisoning and the use of the blood of Palestinian children in the Passover matzos…

Personally, I wouldn’t have tickled their vanity by giving them the publicity they so crave.
They are mad and bad, and will remain at the margins of the margin.

This is my collection. I couldn’t go on beyond the first few as I was overcome. I won’t say with what.
I was raised on Zionism, and I grew up ashamed!. [calling Howard Jacobson]
Down with Israeli Racism and Imperialism!
All power to the Palestinian people!
I am speechless with gratitude for everyone involved in this statement and these actions. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Must go wipe my tears now …
What an incredibly beautiful statement you have crafted. And what courage you have shown taking a stand at the GA and interrupting Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech.

Walt Kovacs, you are not quite accurate when you say:
unrwa never had anything to do with jewish refugees
I was under the same misapprehension until I read Lyn Julius post here:
UNWRA, created by UN Resolution 302 following the 1948 Arab-Israeli war, was initially set up to care for Jewish as well as Arab refugees. Since Israel had very quickly absorbed Jewish refugees who were forced to flee their homes in Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, UNWRA became – and still is – exclusively dedicated to the care of Arab refugees.

walt kovacs you are victim of the no true Scotsman fallacy.
to say many may have jewish sounding names…but they have goyishe kups is not only untrue but bigoted
Jews have been useful idiots throughout history during the Communist revolution being the classic case.
