Over the past two weeks, the Guardian went into overdrive in its obsessive coverage of the flotilla crisis which we covered here, here, here and here.
Accompanying the never ending supply of news stories, the Guardian published a total of 37 articles, editorials and cartoons between May 31, 2010 and June 9, 2010, the vast majority of which were anti-Israel in their stance.
In the following pie chart we break out these articles into the following categories: pro-Israel, anti-Israel and neutral.
Included among the deluge of anti-Israel articles were the following: Israeli PR Machine won Gaza flotilla media battle by Antony Lerman, Who will bring Israel to book over flotilla attack by Daniel Machover, If Gaza’s relief is a step closer, they won’t have died in vain by Seumas Milne, Israelis must speak up for Gaza activists by Daphna Baram, Israel: remember 1947 and the Exodus ship by Richard Irvine, Israel’s aggression is now obvious to all by Deborah Orr and Israel reveals its true face by Ahdaf Soueif. Noticeably, many of the anti-Israel articles were written by Jews who are at the forefront of the movement to delegitimize Israel as a Jewish state.
On the editorial front, the Guardian, published a total of five editorials (including one in its sister paper the Observer), each and every one of which was anti-Israel in its stance as well as three cartoons portraying Israel as the sole aggressor.
Of the 37 articles, editorials and cartoons, a measly four articles were published that could be characterized as pro-Israel, one of which was by Seth Freedman who is most known for his anti-Israel views.
I guess this is the Guardian’s idea of “fair and balanced” to borrow the words of editor, Matt Seaton.

“the Guardian published a total of 37 articles, ”
There are articles in other papers saying that Israel is buying up more weapons than normal …articles saying a corridor is open over Saudi for an attack…Iran is being sanctioned …Turkey has been attacked ( an attack on a vessel in international waters is considered as such.)
Why would there not be many articles? Israel is news worthy. Israel is thought by many to be threatening to start WW3 simply to hold on to a few bits of land that the entire world agrees she is not entitled to .Your article reads as if somehow she is an innocent party, is not camped on others lands and did not initiate an act to maintain an illegal blockade.
” the forefront of the movement to delegitimize Israel as a Jewish state.”
I wish CIFWatch would make a decision…is Israel a Jewish state or not? If she is a Jewish state then is it OK to criticise her… so long as the criticism is measured… without the critic being labelled an anti Semite? Or is this a device to pre empt criticism?
PS I note it will be Israel holding the inquiry and I repeat my earlier point.
Your honour my client has not yet decided whether he is guilty or innocent.

Well, here we go again. An official Israeli inquiry into the deaths of nine Turks (Muslims) yet no one gives a shit about the deaths of over 100 Uzbeks in Kyrgyzstan in the ongoing ethnic – mostly Muslim on Muslim – violence. According to Rueters:
“………….Thousands of women and children have fled Osh for the border with Uzbekistan to escape gangs armed with assault rifles, machetes and iron bars. Those that remain blockaded the entrances to their neighbourhoods with trucks.
“They said: ‘Go back to Uzbekistan.’ They are attacking our women and children,” said Magrafimov…………”
One billion Muslims outraged (“antagonized”) by the Muslim on Muslim ethnic violence? Is the world asking for an inquiry? How many stories in the Guardian regarding the violence and deaths of women and children? The plain truth is that no one gives a shit about the deaths in Kyrgyzstan – Muslim or not. But a few Turkish trouble-making Muslims killed by some Jews……..
Muslim (and Euro-left) hypocrisy exemplified.

Nothing surprising in the statistics really.
What does strike me is how the Guardian has suddenly ‘dropped the hot cake’ now that other striking videos are now in the public domain
Especially the evidence in the video of the captain of the Marmara.
http://cifwatch.com/2010/06/11/the-truth-about-the-mavi-marmara-begins-to-emerge/
I looked through the assortment of posts available on CiF just now and The Marmara affair is non-existent.
Why am I not surprised.

Thank you for pointing that out Tom.
One wonders why Edrogan and his IHH are not organising a food convoy to Darfur where Muslim children are actually dying.
I have seen nominally Muslim commenters on CiF in the past saying that Muslims are enraged when non-Muslims kill Muslims but will remain silent when Muslims slaughter Muslims or Muslims slaughter non Muslims.
This is what is happening in Darfur.
It also explains Bungles complete silence on Darfur and I hardly expect a peep from him relating to Kyrgyzstan’s killings.

Did you expect anything else? Demanding fairness and balance from the Guardian under its present editors would be on the same naivete level like asking the Volkische Beobachter’s editorial staff to publish an editorial about the importance of racial egality, tolerance and peace.

You have to give it to the Guardian, their maniacal and frenzied obsession with Israel is something for the shrinks to explain.
They have managed to surround themselves with journos and posters of the lowest order.Anyone who employs bottom feeders like Ben White,Hamas supporters, and their ilk,to write for them, have lost an semblance of being human.

Berchmans. aka HtD and Abandon Hope.
Whenever I read your poisonous lies, distortions, wilful misinterpretation of international law, etc. etc. with regard to Israel, I remember the Dreyfus affair.
You see, here was an individual Jew who was a loyal French citizen and loyal member of the military, who had trumped up charges levelled against him by antisemites.
His public humiliation in a ceremony to remove his military credentials was watched and exulted over by politicians, the military, the press and other representatives of French officialdom.
It was the secular and disinterested Jew, Theodor Herzl, standing in the press enclosure as a reporter for a Viennese newspaper whose life was changed by what he witnessed, and from that, millions of other lives.
It was not the overt antisemitism from the military, which he expected, that shocked him as much as the unexpected “winds of hate” from his own, supposedly enlightened, profession ie. the press corps.
From that moment on, he became a committed zionist, and the rest is history.
The re-creation of the Jewish state was accelerated as a direct result of the expression of hatred against the Jews, which Herzl witnessed.
Then, as now, the “entire world” was against the Jew, Dreyfus, and his guilt was taken as read.
But as we all know, the truth emerged, and his innocence established.
Now we have the trumped-up charges against the collective Jew, Israel, expressed with the same fury and intensity as in the Dreyfus affair.
You WILL see that the unjust accusations and irrational hatred will galvanise fair- minded people to expose the hypocrisy, and Israel will emerge stronger than ever.
Find yourself a genuine cause to fight for, such as the ongoing Muslim against Muslim genocide in Darfur, if you really care about truth, justice and human life.

Jerusalemite: “This is what is happening in Darfur.”
It happens in every single Muslim country.
From harsh court rullings, silencing crowds as is the case in Iran, ethnic riots, terorrism as is the case in Yeman and Algeria, and last even football clashes as was the case between Algeria and Egypt last year.
I already pointed out that in the 10 May 2010 100 people were murdered by suicide bombers in Iraq and another 20+ murdered a week before the flotilla incident.
They are dying like flies and you can’t even find their names listed anywhere.
But those so called “Shahids” from Turkey have been burried like kings with thousands gathered in the Istanbul square.
This is what is sickening.

Berchmans, you are obviously not as well informed as you think you are. There will be two independent observers to the internal enquiry. This is entirely fitting and in keeping with how other nations do these things, so stop whining.
Israel is not suicidally inclined as is Iran under Ahmadinejad who believes that he is the precursor of the Mahdi. Were I a betting person I would lay odds that if ever there were to be a nuclear war in the region, some Muslim nutjob would start it.
Israel is not likely to decide kill all her people just to make a point.
JM, such Muslims are caught like donkeys between two bales of hay – they are taught to believe that their first loyalties are to their Muslim brethren, which makes them frozen and immobile and completely silent when their Muslim brethren are murdering their other Muslim brethren. Very confusing, even when attempts are made to describe it from the outside.
It’s OK to criticise Israel as a Jewish state, provided that the Muslim nature of the Arab world is open to equal criticism, Berchmans. By that I mean the Arab/Muslim inclination to hate Jews and other kufar and to want to kill them, particularly if they have beaten Muslims time and time again. But even a person of questionable intelligence whose memory is as terminally challenged as yours is knows that won’t happen. Hamas Muslims in Gaza will cynically play on the world’s capacity to feel pity, by lying outright, or twisting the truth sufficiently, and laying the blame for their self-inflicted plight everywhere but with themselves, and will continue to play the useful idiots like yourself for the fools they are.

Well Berchmans obviously doesn’t give a sh*t TomWonacott, otherwise he’d be sloganeering like mad against it at the other place. He’s too terrified of being banned or premoderated there to stand up for what pass for his principles by condemning mass slaughter of Muslims by other Muslims, ‘cos Muslims are always “gentle”, see.
No, in his tiny mind only the rightful killing of Israeli Jews by Muslims is worthy of note (then we get the usual guff about their deserving it), but more worthy of confused mention by this drunken blowhard is if those dastardly Israelis dare to defend themselves.
Not for Berchmans the condemnation of Muslim on Muslim violence against Uzbeks in Kyrgyzstan and in Darfur, because these don’t involve Jews and he is ultimately exactly like one of the donkeys Serendipity describes above. His tiny mind cannot hold too many contradictions of preconceived ideas.
It would be “racist” of him (the great arbiter of “antidiscrimination”) to condemn Muslims even when they are killing other Muslims, but it’s OK for him to condemn Jewish Israel for killing Muslims when under attack.
Objective reality has nothing to do with this. What can very loosely be referred to as Berchmans’ mind is like an old 78 in which the needle has stuck in one groove.

The Guardian (if you look hard enough) has published 84 articles about Kyrgyzstan since September 2000. Approximately 35 have been published since April 7 (compared with a similar number in one week for the Mavi Marmara episode). Four were open for comments, three gathering 1 comment each, and on gathering 23 comments.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/kyrgyzstan
The latest is: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/jun/14/kyrgyzstan-death-toll-ethnic-slaughter
You will search in vain for ponderous editorials or agonized CiF articles from the Guardian calling for the EU, Russia, or God to intervene. You will search in vain for all the usual epithets it, its contributors and its readers fling at Israel, even though it is absolutely clear that we are potentially witnessing the next great genocide – a real one, as occurred in Rwanda.
They have taken notice, it is true – but have brushed it off as just another case of one group of Moslems killing another group.
Meanwhile, all those “humanitarians” are busy worrying about Gaza – for example, making sure that adequate supplies reach this bridal boutique:
http://www.nytimes.com/slideshow/2010/06/13/weekinreview/13gaza-ss-9.html

This is not true.
You might be correct in stating that most Muslim dominated countries, or countries of whom the Muslim population is larger than 10 percent may whitness racial tensions, human rights abuses or conflict / war invloving that muslim minority / majority (depending on the country).
There are many countries (south and central america as well as the far east are great examples) where the factions are driven by christians or other religions and the conflict is about ideology, political alignment, corruption, external intervention, drugs or all of the above…
We demand the Guardian to be neutral and accurate.

Actually AKUS. There is an improvement there. They said ‘Kyrgyzstan death toll rises as ethnic slaughter continues’
Now I was under the impression that ‘slaughter’ was a reserved word only used when Israel kills freedom fighters. I am shocked to see it used here to describe Muslim killing Muslim.

Berchmans.
Israel proper recognised size: 20770 sq km.
WB + Golan heights size: 7029 sq km.
So your “few” settlements are over a third of our country in size, and is fertile while 60 percent of our “recognised” land mass is desert land.
just for clarity, Scotland land mass is 78772 sq km.
I’m against keeping the WB as a whole but I’d hardly risk portraying the issue as you do.
Had it been over a few settlements the issue would have been settled in the 30′s, 40′s or by the 70′s.
We know it’s not.
It’s about survival.
The palestinians (“refugees”) have survived well and have increased their population 4 times in the last 60 years.
That’s amazing considering they are starving and in constant war.
Wouldn’t you agree?

Berchmans did you mince Armaros?! You couldn’t mince a mentally underdevelopped village clown but in your situation having delusion of grandeur must be very helpful.
Regarding Darfur
My simple point is that some posters only seem to notice it at key times…when settlements are being constructed or ships are attacked …you know..
We notice the Darfur problem every single day by allowing hundreds of Darfurian refugees enter and reside in Israel. I must to tell you that the expenses are not covered by the UNRWA but the Israeli taxpayers. The problem is that you and your kind never notice the sufferings of the Darfurians because there are no Jews involved, proving your disgusting hypocrisy and the real face behind your compassion for the Palestinians.

How could I have peace Berchmans while there are persons of your kind dirtying this beautiful world spitting their ignorance and racism, making jokes about murdered children and supporting religiofascist fossils from the 7th century? But suffer? Maybe a mild nausea when reading your crap.
