Sick people. What can one say?

The Guardian acts like a stalker to Israel with all the unpleasant motivations that implies. The obsessions with small unsavoury acts, the dogging and logging of our footsteps, the endless diarising of what we do and where we go. It’s all there.

I suspect that The Guardian will be looking ever more seriously into ‘taking this site down’ bearing in mind the revelations and concentration of Data concerning their crusade against the one Western Liberal Democracy in the Middle East.

Heres to Davy.
AKUS
“Sick people. What can one say?”
I may be a fine one to talk ..with throwaway lines.. but to use such a term to describe coverage of the most pressing, pertinent and most dangerous situation in the world is cheap and cowardly.
Israel had no legal right to do this. Only UN sanctioned blockades can be enforced on the high seas. She has a case to answer. Thats what one can say!

THH
NATO and US forces going around killing thousands of people is clearly less dangerous .

Heres to Davy.
THH
“NATO and US forces going around killing thousands of people is clearly less dangerous . ”
This is a dirty stain on both the UK and the US as the main culprits and I agree it is appalling.
However the ME is potentially more dangerous as Israel can now be seen as an unstable, openly illegal government in control of a hundred bombs deliberately provoking a billion people.
AKUS calls criticism ” sick” thereby giving Israel carte blanche to continue her path to the Third World War. I stand by my statement…this is cheap and cowardly.

“the most pressing, pertinent and most dangerous situation in the world”
Not even close to being any of these things. Nuclear North Korea sunk a warship and nobody gives a hoot. Much more dangerous- zero coverage.

I was looking for the original Adam whatever thread from when the story broke.
Two entire pages of articles and videos and still nowhere near finding it …
One headline that struck me was:
Israel holding 40 Britons in desert prison after Gaza flotilla raid
Note the term “desert prison”. Now while I am not acquainted with Beersherva prison itself I do know the town from my kibbutz days. It is indeed located within the Negev – but saying “desert prison” has certain connotations that simply do not ring true.
Yes, this is indeed an obsession.

Here’s to Davy:
You are wrong. The San Remo Maritime Laws say otherwise.
Bottom line: Israel had every right to interdict and apprehend the flotilla. This was a textbook example of the application of these principles of international law.

Yohoho
Berchmans they are indeed sick people (and you should know – there is considerable creature feeling from you for them);
“..The following is from the official Palestinian Authority daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida:
Headline: “Three of the four Turkish victims of the Israeli attack wished to die as “Shahids” (Martyrs)”
“Three of the four Turks killed in the Israeli attack on the “Freedom Flotilla” bound for the Gaza Strip wanted to die as Martyrs, said their relatives and friends. The wife of one of them, Ali Haydar Bengi, told the Vatan daily: “He used to help the poor and the oppressed. For years, he wanted to go to Palestine. And he constantly prayed to Allah to grant him Shahada (Martyrdom).
“The names of the Turkish nationals killed in Monday’s attack have not been officially released, but the Turkish media identified them yesterday as four men who were involved in Islamic movements or Islamic NGO’s…
Ali worked at telephone repair shop in Diyarbakir, the largest city in south-eastern Turkey. Sabir Ceylan, a friend of Ali, told the Milliyet newspaper: ‘Before embarking on this journey [to Gaza], he said he desired to become a Martyr. He had a strong desire to die as a Martyr.’
“Another Turkish victim was Ali Ekber Yaratilmis, a 55-year old pensioner. He was a father of five who lived in Ankara. Ali volunteered for the Turkish Aid and Human Rights Organization [IHH], which transfers aid to Gaza. A friend, Mehmet Faruk Cevher, told the Sabah daily that [Ali] ‘devoted his life to charity work, that’s why he went to Gaza. He always wanted to become a Martyr.’
“The third victim was Ibrahim Bilgen, a 61-year old pensioner and father of six sons. He was a supporter of the Felicity Party, an Islamic movement in the south-eastern city of Siirt, Anatolia news agency reported. His brother-in-law, Nuri Mergen, told the Agency: ‘He was an exemplary man and a truly good man. That’s why he was truly worthy of Shahada (Martyrdom). Allah granted him the death that he wished for.’”
[Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, June 3, 2010]”
How are these (and you for your too-close identification with them) NOT sick people?
Or, if we are going to be kind about you and them (although I am not inclined to be) thick people?
