Oh he committed two cardinal Cif Sins

1) He alluded to European guilt for the Holocaust.

In CifWorld, the Holocaust was the product of German corporate exploitation and racism. Not the culmination of 2000 years of European antisemitism and complicity with evil bullies who came and went as they pleased the mob.

1) The Mufti violation

On Cif it ist verboten to mention Husseini Al Hajj. Thus suggesting that Muslim Arabs had anything to do with the German X-tian racist corporate Holocaust.

Of course not only did the Mufti like Hitler and was an antisemite even the Nazis were making faces at at the time, he was among the instigators of the final solution. He led an SS division comprised of Muslims who killed and burned Jews and Gypsies throughout the Balkans and Hungary.
He visited the Auschwitz complex and planned a death camp of similar design near Nablus to deal with Zionist Jews and Jews deported from lands Rommel was to conquer. Rommel failed and later plotted to kill Hitler, the Nablus plans were shelved ….history.

Rommel despised the Mufti and considered him a mass murdering fanatic.

The Mufti was also the only major war criminal who escaped prosecution and who managed to continue his political career after having been exposed by Nazi witnesses at the Nurember trials as a willing and influential collaborator.
This guy was probably the only war criminal guilty of crimes during the holocaust and the Armenian genocide during which he served as a field officer and “spiritual leader”. He also instigated the Hebron Massacre two decades before the holocaust.

On Cif, he must not be mentioned because he disturbs the GWV more than any other figure. He turns upside down the Israel are Nazis narrative, completes the link between Islamism and Fascism.

Haj Amin also:

- designed the Einsatzgruppe Ägypten which was to implement genocide in the Mideast and North Africa
- instigated the murderous farhud which reminded the Jews of Iraq to stay in their place as dhimmi
- was convicted by Yugoslavia as a war criminal for his collaboration in genocide in the Balkans
- was never indicted by Britain (which denied the Yugoslavian request for extradition)
- was hired by British intelligence for its Arab News Agency.

Far from being unrepresentative of Palestinians, historian Epeleg confirmed that “Haj Amin’s popularity among the Palestinian Arabs and within the Arab states actually increased more than ever during his period with the Nazis.”

Edward Said confirmed that “Hajj Amin al-Husayni represented the Palestinian Arab national consensus, had the backing of the Palestinian political parties that functioned in Palestine, and was recognized in some form by Arab governments as the voice of the Palestinian people.”

Of course, Haj Amin also murdered more moderate rivals for Palestinian leadership.

Those of us Europeans whose parents were the first to volunteer to fight Hitler and who live in a country with little history of anti Semitism feel no guilt whatsoever,Why would we?

I remember Berchmans having been presented, on CiFWatch, with documentary evidence of his error – yet he continues to ignore reality. Isn’t there a formal name for such psychiatric dysfunction?

The obvious one is denial. The rejection of unpalatable realties because they are too disturbing to an idea of self, and its corollary, the seeking out of evidence to support your own conclusions and the rejection of others that threaten them. The power of the latter is considerable, as anyone with insight into his own shortcomings will recognise. Other categories are cognitive ethnocentrism and narcissism, where the assumption is made that because you think in the way you do, other people and peoples do the same. Though not a psychiatric category, the latter is a form of unreason and is deeply patronising, for it hides a profound scorn for the thoughts and actions of others by removing their autonomy and agency.

Like you my parents fought in WW2, although both were called up the same as the overwhelming majority in the UK, my Father in the Royal Navy and my Mother in the Army.
I was born and brought up in Wales, a country with a history of welcoming strangers and Internationalism second to none, but has there and are there still cases of anti-semitism? Yes, to my shame, there has been and still are. You write about ‘little history’, if you are content to pat yourself on the back that because anti-semitism is less in Scotland than many other countries, then I can only assume that your level of tolerance for anti-semitism is different to mine. Unlike you I cannot sit back feeling smug and complacent. As long as there is ONE case of anti-semitism that is ONE too many and it needs to be vigorously opposed.
As for feeling guilt, yes I do.
Why? Because while individuals did a lot and acted heroically, I have no doubt whatsoever that the Government of the UK could have and should have done more. Read the messages that Frank Foley was sending back to London, they are available on the FCO website, if you need confirmation of this.

The trouble is that the posts cited have little to do with the principle of truth.

OK, post no. 4 was OK and did not deserve deletion (assuming that quote is correct).
The third post could be deleted on the grounds of offensive/personal abuse, claiming as it does that Ritournelle wants to see the elimination of Jews.
Post no. 2 should not have been deleted in my opinion – even though it is laced with lies.
The top post is deeply offensive – and if you can’t see or admit that then you have a serious problem.

I’m sure you’ve heard the argument before, but still: how can I bear any collective guilt when I wasn’t born at the time? My parents? They were toddlers. My grandfather? Serving in the British Army.

“Guilt” is the wrong word – we should instead be talking about “responsibility”, i.e. with a view to the present and the future and based on acknowledgement of the past.

And yes, he was once Time Magazine’s “man of the year” – but so was Ayatollah Khomeini! The title might be misleading, but the award is not necessarily connected to perceived virtuous achievements. So what’s your point?

You are sadly correct that many (although all?) countries occupied by the Nazis had a healthy collaborator portion, but where is the evidence that e.g. Britain had “large segments who opposed the war and saw it as a war for Jews”??

A “large segment” of a society would be at least a fifth IMO.

Europe is collectively guilty as a geographic entity which, more often than not, succumbed to evil through moral corruption. You can attribute this to many things, no time or space enough now to list all the possibilities.

“War for Jews” was something said often in America (Lindbergh, Kennedy) and throughout the continent as people either blamed Jews for the Germans invading their lands or blamed Jews for their nations going to war against Germany.

Lindbergh was indeed a sad case.

But “nations going to war against Germany” seems to imply Britain, France and the US.
