The McGreal thread earlier today provided a veritable source of comments that were deleted for nothing other than espousing the pro-Israel viewpoint.
The first victim was GarryG whose post met the same fate as many a commenter that dare tell the truth about Islamist inspired terrorism:
Before…
After…
And lest there be any doubt in what GarryG had to say, here are a couple of video clips to demonstrate that GarryG was not making this up:
Then we have this perplexing deletion of a post by pro-Israel poster, smtx01.
Before…
After…
Are we to understand that pointing out the double standards at play are not part of the permitted discourse in “Comment is Free”?
And in case you were thinking that smtx01′s comment was deleted for being off-topic, snot’s counter-reply remains standing.
But wait it gets better. When smtx01 and properbostonian try to respond to snot’s undeleted counter-reply, both comments are deleted without trace. Thankfully, we captured them before their deletion by the Guardian anti-Israel thought police:
And whatever you do, never ever ever call the Guardian’s protected an antisemite for making an antisemitic comment in CiF (which remains undeleted).
Before…
After…
And when sasaplau has a go, he or she meets the same fate as TomWonacott.
Before…
After…
I mean what can be more frustrating than having a poster post an antisemitic comment and to have your comment pointing this out deleted, while leaving up the antisemitic comment.
Once again, another memorable moment for Georgina Henry, executive comment editor of the cesspit.

Re Tom
He called me an anti Semite. And no I did not press abuse…my style is to dance round him and embarrass his like ..rather than run to the moderators.
To deny the Israeli lobby is silly…it may well be exaggerated …but to pooh pooh it is the wrong tack. There should be an Israeli lobby. You should be proud of it.

I believe you Berchmans.
Other commentators may believe that you are a lying bigoted racist hypocrite but, I believe you.
Now. Please go back to your slime heap and leave us alone.

Even more appalling was McGreal’s casual racism, where he writes:
“..was always striking to watch the smugness with which Israeli politicians sold Americans the idea that the only issue in considering the conflict with the Palestinians was what Ariel Sharon called, with deeply rolling Rs, the tehrroar”.
Sniggering at Johnny Foreigner’s English is generally regarded as ignorant and distasteful in civilized circles, but this music hall mockery of a Jewish accent had the usual CIF suspects almost creaming their pants with joy. raymonddelauney called it “an excellent paragraph”.

AKUS
The following article by Jackson Diehl in the WP is long, but as a result of the point it is making, a shorter version would no doubt also have been deleted:
A familiar obstacle to Mideast peace: Mahmoud Abbas
“U.S. diplomats had labored for months to persuade Israelis and Palestinians to resume peace negotiations. Just as it appeared they had succeeded, there came a provocation: Israel took a step toward expanding a Jewish settlement in Jerusalem. Headlines appeared around the globe; the European Union protested; Palestinians cried foul. Some threatened to boycott the new talks unless the decision were reversed.
No, Joe Biden was not in Jerusalem that week of December 2007 — he was busy running for president. Instead it was Condoleezza Rice, secretary of state of the Bush administration, who managed that mini-crisis. How she did so, and what followed, offers some lessons for her successors in the Obama administration — who are proving to be remarkably slow learners when it comes to Middle East peacemaking….
…That’s when Rice learned another lesson the new administration seems not to have picked up: This Palestinian leadership has trouble saying “yes.” Confronted with a draft deal that would have been cheered by most of the world, Abbas balked. He refused to sign on; he refused to present a counteroffer. Rice and Bush implored him to join Olmert at the White House for a summit. Olmert would present his plan to Bush, and Abbas would say only that he found it worth discussing. The Palestinian president refused.”

‘what Ariel Sharon called, with deeply rolling Rs, the tehrroar”’
That’s an allusion to a very poor mimic of Sharon by George Galloway, who can’t mimic an Israeli any more than any other accent. Mockery of Israeli accents are the new mockery of Yiddish accents.
GG always was a class act. Imagine if any politician or journalist mocked the English of any foreigner?
GG can imitate Arab and Islamic nationalist rhetoric, though.

Dopey/Berchmans, your capacity for self-delusion is embarrassing and you are telling lies. Your “press abuse” finger is well-used by your own admission at the other place and you are the Brown Nose-in-Chief at CiF who sucks up to Seaton and Henry. I’ll lay odds that you did that at school too by telling tales about your class mates.
MindtheCrap, Berchmans is as grown as he’ll ever be. Heaven knows what stunted his moral and intellectual growth.
AKUS, this Palestinian leadership justifies itself because it is a Muslim imperative never to say “yes” (and mean it, rather than engage in al-taqeyya) to Jews. The western governments which deal with it can’t seem to grasp that.

If you would think for a minute …what good does it do me if the post gets deleted? I want to show off my debating skills ..my humour and my humanitarianism….and no one will see it if it is in some Guardian delete box. Eh no?

You were absolutely successful to show all of your attributes. The debating skills of a drunken pub patron, a humour of the village idiot and the humanitarianism of an SS officer..,

Our resident troll shows us the depths of his delusions when he thinks he dances around or embarrasses anybody with his ad nauseum inanities.
The only thing he displays, unwittingly of course, is that stupidity is the deliberate cultivation of ignorance.

“……..He called me an anti Semite. And no I did not press abuse…my style is to dance round him and embarrass his like ..rather than run to the moderators……”
That you are an antisemite is a given, but this isn’t news to anyone who read your posts. What is more concerning to me is that the moderator didn’t delete your post. Labeling an entire minority like you did should throw up a red flag, but apparently, he/she (moderator) agrees with you. You suggested that Jews control every part of the US (“media , politicians, churches and Hollywood”) which is why the support is so low for the Palestinians in the US.
If I was to suggest that African Americans all want a handout from the government, the moderator would rightly delete my post, so why did the moderator let this blatantly anti Jewish bigotry stand? Simply because the moderator believes Jews control the US. That you believe what you said is a given, but the depth of antisemitism at the Guardian is exposed by the moderator.

“The only thing he displays, unwittingly of course, is that stupidity ”
This is unfair.I have admitted many times that I am maybe not as clever as some people here. The difference is that I know what I am talking about. You need to study bias. You think you understand it ..but it is a uni discipline. You have to read what others have said through the centuries . You then look at the issue..in detail..and.. after careful consideration ..you can make a balanced call.
TomWonacott
“That you are an antisemite is a given, ”
You cannot cudgel people into submission by calling them “anti Semites” anymore on CIF. Not because it is a disgustingly cheap thing to do…but because they can be sued.
” What is more concerning to me is that the moderator didn’t delete your post. ”
Why would the post go? You are allowed to discuss issues like persuation and lobbying arent you?
I keep saying you should be proud that your people shine in so many areas ..including politics and media. ( as well as literature, science , music and comedy) Trying to deny the (clearly existing) Israel lobby smacks of deception.
” You suggested that Jews control every part of the US ”
No I didnt. Thats what you saw. That is not what I said. They punch way beyond their weight but … in no way do they… a tiny minority… control every part of the US. You can get away with misquotes and winks here ..but not on CIF.

” he called me a bad name! ”
The term “anti Semite” is a cracker….immediately associating the recipient with Hitler and causing absolute rage ..as it is intended to do. This rage lessens with time and some of us can now tackle such caustic smears with posts that are not deleted through foul language or hyperbole. The tide is turning on CIF. You cannot call people horrible things without proof.

You might have a point except I wasn’t the only one that interpreted your post as classic antisemitism. Sausaplau said the exact same thing. Only it seems that he was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt.
I know better.
