And folks if you’re wondering why these comments were deleted here’s the reason:
It seemed though that from about 3pm onwards, the moderator got completely carried away. There were mass deletions resulting in 50 deletions from a thread of 264 comments with easily another 30 or so deletions without trace. As I’ve said before they don’t call it the cesspit for nothing. Advertisers take note!
I’ll leave the last word however to anti-Israel poster, exiledlondoner.
For once I have to agree with exiledlondoner – what is the point of CiF??

All this censorship by Cif Moderators is a confession of weakness. Even a critic of Israeli policies like exiledlondoner is affronted. Cif is simply scoring own goals.
Independent Jewish Voices has more or less faded into obscurity, despite being kept on life support by the Guardian. I suspect that Weingarten’s JNews will share the same fate.

Agreed ..this is silly . Alderman is unoriginal oily and keeps stubbing his toes ….but why delete him?
Posts advocating violence should be deleted …also comparing any side with the Nazis … horrible attacks on religion…. denying the Holocaust..thats it .

For once I agree with the sentiments behind a CiFW headline!
Madness … none of those comments deserved deletion – not even Alderman’s (who I’m no fan of)!
The sole consolation would be that tinlaurelledandhardy’s post from 3:52PM (which bunches me together with Alderman!) has likewise been removed.
On a related point: unlike Hawkeye I have no major strife with exiledlondoner. You might disagree with him, but his posts are generally on-topic and not offensive.
I don’t suppose you’ve retrieved any of his deleted posts, have you?

Pretzelberg what you say is mostly correct which is why you don’t see his posts published on CiF Watch other than in the context cited above.
Now have you written to Matt Seaton and Georgina Henry to demand an explanation?
And by the way – Beaton’s original offending comment is still undeleted meaning that the Guardian stands by his despicable ad hominem attack. Characterizing pro-Israel posters as fascists with the use of expletives is apparently acceptable in the Guardian’s book or should I say there cretinous style guide.

Beaton’s comment was – ostensibly – addressed ad those who throw the terms “self-hater” or “Arab-lover” at certain Jews.
Then again, of course, one does get the feeling that it was also either a) some preemptive act of intimidation indeed aimed at those critical of Weingarten (like toryzionist) and/or b) a cheap and pathetic quest for recommendations.

CIF is playing to the punters. If enough people complain about a post, however spuriously, it gets deleted. It’s all about marketing. The trouble is, when you start marketing to the mob, you all but inevitably market to the anti-Semites. It’s a kind of commercial demagoguery, self-reinforcing, and in turn reinforced by the vulgus.
