Check this comment out from Brian Whitaker from a thread a few days ago:
Is Whitaker seriously suggesting that Peres is more important than the Queen? What sneering condescension.
Has it escaped Whitaker that Israeli diplomats face far graver threats from a worldwide network of terror groups than that of the Queen? Only last month an attempt was made on the life of four Israeli diplomats in Jordan. And in Britain just two nights ago we had a chilling reminder of how serious the atmosphere of hate is in anti-Israel circles when a member of the audience at the Oxford Union called for “Death to the Jews” in Arabic during a talk by Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister, Danny Ayalon.
As a supposed expert in the Middle East, you’d think that Whitaker would display a little more sensitivity to the threats faced by Israeli diplomats especially when only a few days ago in Whitaker’s own backyard there was a poster that advocated the execution of none other than Shimon Peres.
Then again when it comes to open calls for violence against the Jews its business as usual.

What it does is point to the deficiencies of the Guardian Cabal mindset.
If peaceful ‘Soldiers of The Prophet’ threatened Her Majesty the Queen, the bicycle would probably have been picked up by some remote operated machine, deposited in some mangler and completely destroyed.
Very typical of the extreme anarchist detached left to compare security measures for Her Majesty and those that are needed to protect the president of the one Liberal Western Democracy in the whole Middle East. A country, that Brian Whitaker has once mentioned, gives full equality and protection under the law to gay people. It also gives full equality to females.
Bearing this in mind, it is completely unacceptable that a paper which has said that it presents a balanced view of the world, is so inherently obsessed negatively with Israel.
He is shameless.

Whilst I agree with this article… it was not pointed out that the post advocating violence against Reres was deleted. This weakened the article.

As if we needed further proof that this Brian Whitaker character is a complete schmuck. Now we got it straight from the donkey’s mouth.
An immature comment from someone who should know better. The sort of vengeful comment that you would expect from one who is senile……(Or from someone who works for the Guardian)
I’m starting to wonder if the Guardian is starting to turn into an abhorrent House Of Horrors.

That too.But what the heck,If the respective security services decided to remove the bikes for Peres, and not for the Queen.

Hawkeye. The frivolity of the comment featured was highlighted by your solemn and considered response.
Shimon Peres is under threat and not only in his person as President of Israel. All Jews are again under threat by people who call Death to Jews openly in public places, unashamed and unafraid.

This is the Palestinian National Anthem……Death To The Jews.
These people keep telling us that the Jews should go back to where they came from.In fact we did, we went back to where we came from.
It took a while but we made it.
Now if only they also told the Palestinians to go back to where they came from. Then we might have a bit of balance.

An article on CIF watch would be very interesting. Those of us arguing the Guardians case often feel very isolated there amongst the lies and drivel.

In servng as platform to attract those calls and thus provoke anti-Semitic violence, the Grauniad (and the Beeb) have much Jewish blood on their hands.

Yet another illustration of the fact that the Grauniad’s self-declared Mideast experts really have little knowledge of the area.
It was in fact the PLO’s attempted assassination of Israeli Ambassador to the UK in 1982 which ignited the Israeli-Lebanese war.
One would think an ignoramus like Whit would have the common sense to keep his mouth shut and be thought a fool, rather than open his mouth and confirm it.

Although there are some frankly appalling comments right here on the thread:

If that comment appeared with the names reversed on CiF, a lot of people here would be crying “Advocating the murder of Peres!!!!” or “Gentiles good, Jews bad, it appears!!”
Be honest, please.

This is a guy who supposedly has insight, judgment and is an editor at CiF???
It smacks of the nod nod wink wink “who me?” attitude feigning innocence that is so prevalent at the guardian.

A little bird told me recently that CiF has realised (too late, too late!) that it shot itself in the foot when it banned the measured and intelligent pro-Israel posters (who also happened to be Jewish) because, guess what, the more intelligent anti-Israel posters, who could at least debate, left CiF in droves too because they had no-one to debate with! This of course left behind the dregs like you, exiled, mo(e)ron, papapapaplagi, dotty and others at whose hands CiF comes across as a verbal version of something by Hieronymous Bosch, both above and below the line.
What? You want proof? Look no further than the Bronner article.

I’d say look no further than the Dershowitz thread – in about 100 posts yesterday there were over 30 deletions and another 5-10 double deletions. The thread was a complete joke especially given the subject matter of the ATL article.
Btw Pretz was in good form yesterday on the Dershowitz thread. Credit where credit is due.

I said this from the start. I could not get to grips with AKUS being banned. He was an totally straight down the line pro Israeli with the usual narrative leading his restricted thoughts. But he was polite ..never let hatred overtake him would never call folk names. I read comments here and realise he was a whole quantum ahead of the pack. I miss him.

“. . . a member of the audience at the Oxford Union called for “Death to the Jews” in Arabic during a talk by Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister, Danny Ayalon.”
The aftermath of this incident was reported in the Jewish Chroncicle:
http://thejc.com/news/uk-news/27084/oxford-student-i-didnt-mean-kill-jews
“The student who appeared to shout “Slaughter the Jews” at Israeli minister Danny Ayalon has claimed the Deputy Foreign minister misunderstood his Arabic.
The Oxford Student newspaper has named the protester as second year St Edmund’s Hall student Noor Rashid.
Several eyewitnesses said they heard Mr Rashid shout: “Itbah Al-Yahud”, an Arabic phrase meaning “Slaughter the Jews”. Mr Ayalon translated the phrase with this meaning.
But Mr Rashid claimed that he had in fact shouted “Khaybar ya Yahod”, a classic Arabic battle cry referring to a seventh-century attack by Mohammed on the Jewish community in Khaybar where the Jews were conquered and made to pay half of their income to the Muslim population.”
Oh, I see. That makes it okay then. Doesn’t sound antisemitic at all, does it?

I’m an optimist and see a very positive side her. The Oxford Student newspaper no less, has named the guilty one. He may be a hero amongst some of the students but many many others will no doubt see him as a lying pariah.
