Seth wrote in this article:
“Palestinian officials this week issued a call for overseas assistance in preventing the completion of the rail link, having recognised that without such external pressure there is no hope of putting a halt to the illegal construction.”
which received the usual enthusiastic support from the Guardian BDS regulars.
However, this article also calls for international support to stop construction, but …. it involves British money and interests:

Hee hee- I’m loving this graph! I’m thinking about using it as my wallpaper.
Eye for an eye- boycott for a boycott. Pretty soon Seth will have to find a real job.
Support the Sethcott!

Most of the time he’s writing about how awful Israel and the Israelis are, and in the next breath, he’s defending them over Gaza. So he’s managed to alienate everyone.
When I followed a link to the Highlander website recently, his name was mud, an ‘as a Jew’ they no longer trust to put out their hate Israel message.
As I (should have) said in the last Seth Freedman post, you can’t run with the hare and hunt with the hounds.

Sorry, that should read Heathlander, not Highlander.

cityca Sethele is terminally conflicted. He’s bent himself so far out of shape trying to be whatever his current masters want him to be that he’s permanently twisted.
His asaJew mentality is actually a liability to him. Those who disagree with him never forget that he is a Jew and those who agree with him don’t remember his Jewishness until he says something to alienate them. Either way he’s bashed.
And nobody trusts a traitor.

Seth decided to be the Guardian’s shield against charges of anti-Semitism. No matter how vile the Guardian was and how many Der Sturmer style comments the Guardian published they could always point to Seth. They repeat the mantra-how can we be anti-Semitic when we have Sethie on the payroll? Seth made a deal with the devil but he will learn that when the Guardian unloads employees, as all failing newspapers must, he will be the first thrown under the bus.

I think that he will be the last one. My understanding is that the Guardian pays only a nominal amount for CiF articles so I infer that the only saving to be achieved is by cutting back on the overall number of articles on the site. I am sure that CiF will cut others before they cut Seth.

Looking at the graph, it appears that the trend was already going south even before the ban kicked in. Still, the ban may have hastened the decline. In an attempt to seek more attention from his acolytes and critics alike, I predict that Seth will become more daring in his demonizing of Israel and, if his last contribution is anything to by, more “flexible” with the truth? Push the envelope baby!

I stopped responding to Seth Freedman’s drivel. He insists that any imperfection by Israelis must be publicized as if it is the worst sin ever perpetrated in the history of the world. As far as Hamas going into hospitals and dragging out Fatah members and then killing them (after shooting them in the knees) that didn’t interest Seth Freedman. It didn’t interest Richard Goldstone either. Whenever Seth Freedman is asked about why he does not publicize the terrible things that Hamas does to Palestinians who don’t toe the line for Hamas, Seth Freedman responds in the same way: “Well so that means I can’t write about what Israel does?”. You can see how defensive a man he is. Seth Freedman wants so badly to be considered a cool guy who wears a kaffiyeh that it is really sad.

I’m absolutely delighted by this trend, and by the corresponding popularity and recognition of CIFWatch. I think the average CiF poster (no fan of Israel) is frankly bored of his prose (like wading through slurry), and his repition. He’ll soon be left with just his groupies like Berchmans.
He’s been getting less and less central spots, where if I understand correctly they get paid 200 quid. That stockbroker money can’t last forever and hopefully sooner or later he’ll have to get a proper job instead of playing pretend journalist, and hopefully we’ll be shot of him.

Callie, one index of maturity is to be able to interact with people who disagree with one’s views and not be so defensive as to misconstrue that disagreement as a personalised attack on one’s self.
Freedman cannot manage that because he is so immature, which is why any post which disagrees with his distorted and ill-researched take is swiftly removed, if not by him, then by his pestering the mods until they remove it.
People who are as challenged as he cannot “hold” the good and the bad in things at the same time as can most mature people, and from them synthesise a realistic picture in which there is both good and bad. Rather someone like Freedman rattles from one extreme to the other – one minute he excoriates Israel, the next (particularly during Cast Lead) he defends her, and the latter led to him being cast out by the ISM.
He’s a wretch who seems to be trying out different personae because he’s not sure where he can locate himself.
I should feel sorry for him but he has done too much damage for that.

Seeing that you’ve actually created a graph made me laugh.
Obviously if AKUS and others no longer comment, there will be fewer exchanges with certain dogmatic Israel critics. In addition, some of the latter also left the arena a while back (who was it again with the infamous “cockroaches” slur?).
But like Rysk, however, I think it seems that Seth has simply spent his rhetorical ammunition. Recently he yet again used the “baby and bathwater” or “toys and pram” phrase.
Plus he rarely now comments below the line. Maybe he thinks he’s done enough to win a Pulitzer.

pretzelberg – are you calling me “dogmatic”?
Anyway, fewer exchanges is definitely a worthy objective. But I think you missed something – Freedman was trying for the trifecta – the Pulitzer, the Booker, and the Nobel.
I guess we’ll just have to wait to see what happens. Perhaps while he’s waiting he’ll take some writing and

“Obviously if AKUS and others no longer comment, there will be fewer exchanges with certain dogmatic Israel critics. In addition, some of the latter also left the arena a while back (who was it again with the infamous “cockroaches” slur?).”
I failed to see the point in commenting on Seth Freedman’s threads a long time ago. The moderation alone was highly dubious but I should add that it wasn’t only AKUS (Hi, AKUS, I’m a big fan and swing by to read your posts, here) and other like minded commenters being removed. Hard not to notice other commenters who posted in support of the Palestinians, but who started to question Seth’s sincerity were also removed with unusual haste. The one ism CIF did not tolerate was anti-Sethism.
As for LaRit and her “famous cockroach slur,” add that to the famous “hey, Jew, (or Linda Grant if you prefer) how come you Anglicised your name,” slur , and the whopper about the money grubbing gentile hating Jewish landlord, etc. I can only commend CIF at least for its unstinting loyalty toward this poster who has never been banned.
And what about the drama over her “outing” which turned out to be a complete wind-up but one CIF seemed to want to let LaRit play out until the obvious smacked even them between the eyes – The link in question that “outed” her first appeared on CIF, then ages afterwards resurfaced on other blogs. And the link in question was from You Tube and guess who posted it (and others) on You tube? Can you guess ? Can you ?
So it came to pass that old LaRit advertises herself all over the Internet – Who knew! Well just about everyone as it happens.
In my opinion the woman is sick, as sick as anyone would have to be to pretend they don’t know the connotations in referring to a Jew as a cockroach or welding together some drek about a money grubbing, gentile hating landlord or trying to belittle a Jewish author for Anglicising her name, all the while keeping a straight face when claiming to be anti-racist.
“But like Rysk, however, I think it seems that Seth has simply spent his rhetorical ammunition. Recently he yet again used the “baby and bathwater” or “toys and pram” phrase.”

Seth Freedman recites the talking points he finds or gets emailed to him from anti-Israel sources. He doesn’t do any original reporting. He wakes up, checks his email, and rewrites the anti-Israel story of the day. What a sorry way to earn a living, meager as it must be.
