What there are,are Arab Israeli’s who live in the fully democratic Israel,as full citizens.

I’m not a lawyer either but anything relating the Geneva Convention to Israel is pure guff.

Belligerent occupation is defined by the Hague and Geneva Conventions and it requires a High Contracting Party on either side of the war.

No High Contracting Party has an interest in any of The Territories and as we all know Israel in 1967 was defending herself only.

I liked White’s comment on former Arab villages. I have posted a snippet here on abandoned Arab villages and also recall a US agricultural bigwig called Lowdermilk reporting in 1939, later than the source of my earlier post, on flying over the Mandate land and seeing around 200 such villages.

Add to that that the Arabs who create the lists of “Palestinian” villages include such things as police posts…

Well, Namokel, those friends are all, I suppose part of your other friend Ahmadinajad’s much feared “global conspiracy”.

Of course, it could be that these friends admire people who tell the truth unlike Arafat, Gaddafi, or Ahmadinajad, for example, and stand up for themselves.

As for “getting away with it … how conveniently you over look Iran’s repression of its dissidents, Russian activity in Georia and Chechnya, China in Tibet and among the Uighars, Darfur, etc .. but of course, those are BIG countries, so you and Moeran understand that they have every right to “get away with it”.

It is Israel’s small size and determination to do what it wishes, not what others want for it, that drives people like this retired schoolmaster Moeran crazy. If only Israel were a really big country – as big, say, as Iran – they would no doubt be entirely supportive.

There is only one solution: A One State solution. The whole area has to revert to being Palestine. Zionism has to be dismantled. It’s got nothing to do with Judaism: In fact a material state of Israel is heretical in Judaism. Israel in my view is like a much slicker presented North Korea: A Cult that controls land.
